I bought the scx24 some years back.. and with all the advertising etc built a reasonable crawler with it.

Something was missing for me. Remounted the shocks for more of a lift kit look, added 5mm extra axle hexes, new motor and heatsink

, remachined the motor mounting slots to accommodate a larger pinion gear, and some monster truck tires. Now it finally has all the entertainment value I could want. Twice as fast, twice as big, and will wheelie, endo with the electric brake, and moves quick enough to get all 4 wheels off the ground.

That's cool. Do you have a local place you run?
Rc madness is the closest place with tracks. Their stuff is not set up for this though. There is a spot nearby with some great trails through the woods though. Hard packed dirt trails, rocks, roots and gravel. Plenty of incline to be had

I found this place in Florence Ma.

Been a minute since I have done anything to this. Just been driving, most recently around the new oval in the backyard. Recent projects have made certain things available. I converted the mini b to brushless....and wound up looking at a perfectly good 2 in1 esc designed for a buggy instead of a crawler....and in it went. Massive performance increase over the stock esc. Spins all 4 wheels on tile enough it makes hard to get going at speed, and on a surface with traction just power wheelies from a dead stop.
