This one will be fairly short and simple. I scored a brand new Fusion 21 Series 1 fresh out the box, never driven never started.

Has the hard to find truck body not even painted.

First thing I did was peel off that sticker, swapped out the wheels and gears, added a genuine Schumacher air filter and trimmed and mounted the body

Never gonna paint it as I love the look

Now you've got one to drive and one to display! There's even another brand-new Fusion .28 on ebay, with an unpainted BMW body. You could have a basher, a shelf queen, and a parts car!

All jokes aside, I have 2 more question about those cars:

I notice the engine looks like it has a "small block" footprint; the engine mounts and crankcase have the same dimensions as a small-block engine. Is this correct? I wonder how many engines are like that... the OS .21TM comes to mind, the Picco's made for the Fusion, and the Thunder Tiger .21 you had in your other one. Any others?

Secondly, Is that a 1/10th scale pipe designed specifically for this application, and if not, how does a .28 respond to being fitted with a pipe ostensibly designed for a .12?

Appreciate your sharing these!

My other one has a Picco now, but before that it had the Thunder Tiger Pro 21R same as this car only difference was that one was a “Series 2” car with some very minor differences. The engine is a big block and mounts like one. I’ve heard the guy who used to design OS engines went to work for TT to design the Pro 21R, but not sure how true that is.

I’m building a third Fusion 21 but on that one I’m using an MGT cooling head!

Yes the tuned pipe is specific to this application, there isn’t much space to fit a pipe in there so I haven’t seen any “upgrades” out there apart from maybe a custom made one. The 21 powered cars came with a nicely machined pipe, and the 28 powered cars got a one piece tuned pipe that looks a bit different. I wish I knew who made them, either Thunder Tiger or Schumacher, I’d like to find out that info.
