Scary day

Early this morning around 0230 hrs, I was on assignment when just a few miles up the road, a call went out on the radio of an officer down, needs immediate assistance. I was literally 3 miles away, and could do nothing because of the post i was on. It is one of the hardest things that any LEO has to deal with, hearing a fellow officer down, and being helpless to do anything. Thank GOD he is doing ok, and that the deputys were close to the scene and just happened to be listening to our radio channel's.

Well, there are things that can't be discussed until after the investigation is complete, and court is overwith, but there is more to the story than just what was told.

A common traffic stop is the most dangerous since you never know what you're coming up on.

No the COP shot through his windshield at the bad guy through his windshield. Dude was standing over the trooper with the gun pointed at him. Deputy didnt even have time to get out of the car after putting it in park.

We all have to do unpleasant things when we really want to do something else. I'm glad that you're fellow LEO is okay and I hope that the nutcase is going to get the noose. Keep up the good fight, Alpine.
