I am getting geared up to convert a savage into a truggy... seen 2 guys @ my LHS do it and they are awsome!! If I can figure out how to post pics in here I will post along the way... The new toy is going to scoot under a ported Picco .27 Can't wait!

:)

Man I wanna see this.

If you have problems with posting pics e-mail them to me and I can host em for you, just shoot me a PM. All you have to do is uplaod them to photobucket and post the link.

yeah i would like to see some pics.never seen a savage converted.what all do you change?seeing as it isnt buggy based

need to look at BCE RC Racing section on truggyracers more often

Yeah I don't ither whats the difference from that or just getting a skid plate to go across the bottom. I dont see how you really could make the savage a truggy due to the TVP's unless the engine and the tranny and diffs were somehow mounted to the bottom plate which IMO would look kinda funny with two plates just sticking up the sides. (unless the plates are gone all together which would look reallly wierd)

I can see how that would work, but I don't see how that would be considered a Savage any more. Basically a custom truck with savage suspension components??

I'd do it. The savage diffs, trans, suspension arms, steering and towers are all good. Why not throw it all on a pan chassis so it's easier to work on?

Although, that chassis looks like it would only support the front/rear of the savage, not anything else.

C'mon truggyracers! Give us some info!

Yea, a mutant savage :) Thats basically what it looks like to me, could be a very good performing truck but I wouldn't call it a truggy.

If it runs a center diff, why not??
that's essentially what mine does...it's definately a truggy.....I just have the super beefy MT style arms instead of buggy style w/ a smaller upper arm and only single shocks.......I honestly think I made one kick ass truggy....and I can't wait to see what it can do w/ a high revving mill in it......it's more responsive in many ways than my buggy is....I think this savage conversion is similar to mine and would be a real sick race machine that takes serious abuse as well......

center diff = truggy

I do not even recomend using savage suspention any more.. better things out there that make it handle better (seen/drove 1st hand).. BUT since CRSMP5 is banned here (his suspention upgrades and all), he will only allow me to show Bill's items for Bill since Bill is not a member here.

Only reason I am a member was to fix the post on the lsp chassis where it was missed where its info was located. But I figured you would like to see Bill's solution to savage truggy idea. That photo is above and sadly all the info to date on it. Looks like he used a ofna 2/speed/center diff set up and engine mounts.

Idk, I just thought truggies were more like buggies as far as over all design rather than a MT with a center diff.

personally I consider the Revo more of a truggy than a true MT......but it has all the mechanics of an MT....but the real nitty gritty definition is like truggyracers mentioned...center diff.....

Well actually in a way that definition also has a stigma, the true definition of a truggy is the "lack of gear redution" some ofna modded buggy into mt have a slipped under the 2 speed, between the 2 are gear reduction gears, the cen genisis has a center diff, but all kinds of other gear reduction. so a true truggy has no gear reduction, else it has a transmission so is a mt at that point.

just a thought,
If you combine a Savage
and a Buggy
you'd get a SAGGY

:ahh:
:D

'scuse me.....
