I run OFNA or mugen 50K in my diffs for my MT's. Ran that in both my aftershock and savage. Helps avoid getting high centered on crap when bashing, and really helps get power to all 4 wheels in the snow.

i ve filled the diff up to the cross bar is that enough coz I'm panicing that it is not enough

I usually fill up to the top of the cross bar. Any more than that and it will just leak out when you put the top gear on. Then as it heats due to use, even more will leak out.

can anyone explain to me what hpi have done with the wheel hexes on the xl .have they just used 17 mm hexes and still used the same size thred and nuts as the old savage.:)

I've had to get 87230 conversion kit so i could fit the big joes i just got.:)

17mm hex that fits the same axle size (1mm larger than the revo/maxx where the hub sits. Same nut thread size, but it's a larger flanged nut now to bite into the 17mm hub on the rim. Also, all 4 axles are standard direction thread now, so if you want to upgrade, you have to buy 2 more right thread axles to use with the flanged nuts they use.

I just bought a set of 17mm hubs/nuts for the e-savage as it runs the same size axle where the hub sits as my revo. Tired of the revo 17mm hubs getting slop in them due to the crappy design.

You can kind of see the center hole on the hubs are smaller than the X hubs.
