I wonder when the K5.9 will be ready for sale, and if it can be shoehorned into an older savage.

I might try it as well when the F4.1 I have wears out... I already have the beefed up dogbones.... Looks like I'd need the stronger outdrives, and a set of metal shoes.

I want the engine, but don't want the hassles of those funky offset adapters.

I have aluminum shoes and the beefed-up MIP center CVDs and three speed with the higher third gear.....I think it would do it nicely.....but here is one question...If that thing has so much torque; then why the larger spur gear and smaller bell? With more power wouldn't you go the other way with the combo? I wonder if this is a case of people get "wow'ed" by the size of the engine? I just don't see HPI putting out a slug of an engine. I guess we will have to wait and see.

HA, cold day in hell before I spend that much on a nitro, wait.... Never mind lol, damn those hop up companies. But really just buy the Baja for that price. lol.

Man I would rather buy a 400 dollar truck and spend 600 to make it the way I want than spend 1000 bucks and have a bone stock truck.

It won't cost that much when it hits stores. Thats just MSRP. MSRP on the Savage x 4.6 was something lie $850. The XL will probably be a 500-650 dollar truck. Seems worth it IMO because to buy extended TVPS and a bigger engine alone would cost 300-350 + the 450 sticker price of the Savage itself.

I think we are likely to see a 2WD Baja 5T Stadium Truck before we see a 4WD.

I don't know about that. Awhile back Hpi supposedly bought the rights from a smaller company to build a 4wd gas MT. I don't remember what it was called though. Maybe some one here knows?
