great video, no more words to say, savage x or savage xl are tough MT. proud to have one savage x.

I have the XL and two friends of mine have the X. Only complaint I have about the XL is that the engine will test your tuning skills. Once you have the XL tuned though, the engine is very dependable. Everything is still stock but I've sealed the engine. On my friends X, it's been very dependable for both of them. They've had minor issues like tuning, some minor tranny issues and their one way bearing slipping from a high oil content nitro fuel. I've switched my XL to pull start because the fuel I was using(traxxas 20%) was making the one bearing slip so much that I could not even start it. By switching to pull start and switching to Byrons rtr 20% with 16% oil, I have no trouble starting my engine. Also with the pull start I don't have to charge a battery to start it and I don't have to carry around the roto start in the field. Hope this helps and HPI has awesome customer service along with a factory 2 year warrenty.

Hi,
Thats good to know, as I had thought it to be only one year warranty from date of purchase...

20% nitro with 16%oil content? I used now only 25%nitro with 9%oil but I had to watch my tune every time but for power its good on the other hand the life span of the engine will become lessen if not tuned properly with this kin of fuel.

I've always ran a very good brand name fuel that had atleast 16% oil and I've got engines still in service over 10 years. I have not run them for 10 years but they're that old. I always keep my temps under 250 as well. The fuel is Byrons RTR 20%.

lower oil content fuel makes engine more cooler I run all my rigs at max 220*F after I tuned check the temp, sometimes not even going to 220*F but it runs great.

Everyone's temps are going to vary based on temps, humidity, sea level, etc. 220 is definitely a good temp but I like mine just a little hotter.
