Hi guys, well I took the plunge and spent the money and got a Savage Flux HP. The only word I can describe for this truck is WOW. I am only running 2 25c 2s 6000mah lipo's but the truck blows me away. Yes it was alot of money, but worth every dime of it. saving for 3s batteries but 2s are great!!!!:D

6s power is insane. The truck will wheel stand at almost anywhere in the throttle range. At my lhs they had one for demo and they trashed the transmission on 6s......

Yup, 6s is insane, get used to the 2s before you go 3s. I only say that because I went straight to 3s and its almost impossible to drive. I'm looking into getting some 2s batteries so I can actually drive it.

I'm not sure how people are keeping theres together in the vids you see. If i drive my truck like that it breaks all kinds of stuff

I dialed down the punch control on mine so it was drivable. I can still pull wheelies when I want but it is controllable now at least. that is until my ESC went up in FLAMES....pictures to follow.

Oh rub it in lol I'm waiting for slash to sell and i will order one my self and start a build

has anyone drove the brushless emaxx and the savage flux to compaire because if you havent drivin both it is hard to compaire acuratly. I had my brushed emaxx's esc almost go up in flames there was definetly enough smoke comin off her.

They are both essentially the same ESC/Motor combo according to the guys at my lhs. HPI is supposed to be using a re-badged Mamba Monster.

Yes it is a rebadged Mamba Monster, the power leads say Castle Creations on them. Never driven the brushless Emaxx but I would have to say it would be hard pressed to be more radical than the Flux

well i ran it thru its paces today, got about 45 min run time with 2 2s 25c 6000mah batteries. I think i am going to stick with 2s lippo's good run times, batteries are reasonable and truck is pretty controlable. Although it is really cool to be going thru the yard at 1/4 throttle and gas it and pull the wheels straight up!! The hardest thing is you don't realize how fast you are going and it is hard sometimes to turn to avoid hitting something. I haven't drove the emaxx or revo, but the flux rocks!! great investment

You guys and your flux's are killing me i can't wait any longer lol things really need to sell.

Does anyone know where to get a center skid plate for a flux, i can just see a rock or stick going up and snapping one of my drive shafts

Let me be the first to say :p:

you wont need it, they wont break but they will bend. i run mine in gravel all the time theres nothing to worry about. those are the strongest shafts that HPI makes

so if the flux is just a rebadged castle motor wouldn't they be the same pretty much just different gearing????? I just like the traxxas products so far, realy havent had the best of luck out of my hpi nitro rs4.

The motor is not rebadged from what i can tell but the ESC is. I'm not sure what the difference would be but i havent seen any vids of a stock emaxx or erevo running like the Flux does and my bet is that the Flux is heavier. I dont know anything about that HPI car but both my Savages have been way tougher than any Traxxas I ever owned and I had many of them. I'm not bashing Traxxas, would love to have another one just not sure which one

:nopics:

No pics then nothin was purchased, your probably running a classic Tamiya or somethin SAYING its a Savage Flux....:hehe:

I sent you a pm. My ESC went up in flames as well. No smoke just burst into flames
