I have taken a break from the whole racing scene this season and have found it to be refreshing.

Watching some the vid of Racer 1966 jumping his Savage gave me the itch to get back to bashing. I have my ERevo which I will change the setup on to turn it into a basher, but I wanted something for my son to use so he can join me.

Sold off my Merv and a few other items and picked him up a Savage Flux HP. He has only known racing RC's so this is going to be a new experience for him. He is also now 11 and I have informed him that if he breaks it, he has to fix it. Time for the boy to learn the other side of the RC hobby.

Now I have to remember to send in the $50 rebate form.

Sadly, I am pretty sure my wife is going to make me save the Flux for XMas and not give it to him now. It's going to be a long winter.

Time for me to right a wrong.

When I got into the 5th scale Baja racing scene I essentially cut him out of racing RC's. They are simply too big and expensive for him to be running. Baja's have been shelved for awhile and I am going back to what really matters which is spending time with my son.

Good for you! As stated above, most of my best r/c experiences are bashing with my son.

That was fast.

Looks like my new........I mean my son's new Savage Flux has been delivered.

All this talk of bashing... REALLY want to start up the Supermaxx. I cannot stand having all these toys and knowing they just frickin' sit there. boo.

Son is away at camp until Friday. For now it just sits on his bed as is.

So what stops you?

Eh, ever since child #2 arrived r/c has pretty much taken a back burner... at least outside stuff. My wife is always gone all day on the weekends and I can't really take the 2 year old out front while I play. I can't trust her. Maybe Chase and I will take it outside when she naps this weekend. Usually I'm cleaning up the house, having 1 on 1 time with Chase or playing video games when she's napping.

pardon the mess Rob. Sorry.

Awesome truck dude! I'm not an electric guy but if I ever decide to get one it will be a Flux HP. I saw some crazy vids of that thing on the HPI website very impressive.

I am LOVING my Flux here in the Desert...I mean that thing will do things a nitro never dreamed of! My biggest problem is I have some new batteries and NOT a drop of soldering flux to put the ends on with!!!....ARGH!! But anyway I will stop my rant....Things I noticed about it though about the same for all RTR vehicles make sure the mesh is good mine was WAY too loose and the pinion had no locktite so two packs and it spun off. My son will be three in January and he is already thrilled with RCs....actually I think anything dad does he likes...Enjoy that sucker and have fun with the kiddo...he will remember that stuff forever!

Thats awesome Rob.....feel free to send me a baja and I'll keep it company.

I'm sure your son is gonna dig that new Savage. My Baja has also been sitting on the shelf for the last few months, I've even kinda pondered selling it to get a Savage Flux.

Let us know what you guys think about the new truck!

I am probably going to sell my off-road 5B. My intentions to race both the 5B and 5T class was short lived. I stuck with the 5T and shelved the 5B after only 2 heats. It's practically brand new aside from some dirt and a few scuffs skid plate.
