Savage Dog Bone Issue

Just purchased a Savage X 4.6 second hand, a lot hopped up such as metal suspension, metal steering etc, problem I have is left hand front wheel, the dog bone keeps coming away from the wheel. Nothing is damaged, both sides visually appear to be similar with exception right side does not come away.

I have never owned an RC car b4, so techy talk will not help me. I am assuming something needs adjusting, I have adjusted shocks but to no avail, not sure what to adjust now. Everything else runs like a dream, just annoying when car flips or locks due to the dog bone

Any help greatly appreciated
 
There should be rubber o rings inside the drive cups on the differentials. If one is missing this can cause the issue you are refering to.
 
Ok, so if i remove the wheel assembly I should be able to see if missing
 
Checked and I have no O rings at all, not in any of the wheels cups, nor opposite side, checked user manual and cannot see any reference to 0 rings there either
 
Then they have been removed or lost they should be in there. I also purchased a used Savage X a couple of years ago and it had the o rings as did my Savage XL which I bought brand new.
 
The O rings are in there to get rid of the slop of the drive axles. Most cars and trucks have them and some don't. Since you have the manual take off the tie rods and put them against the book to measure them. It will be in the suspension section and they will have a specified measurement for the tie rods. If the tie rods are too long then you'll keep losing that axle and if you keep losing the dogbone after the adjustment, then you definitely need the O rings. Not an expensive fix but its something you can do yourself.
 
do u happen to know the part number for the said 0 rings?, i will check out the tie rods
 
Not at this moment. You can go to Towerhobbies.com and search for them. Just search savage 4.6 dog bone O rings. Another option is to go to hpiracing.com and look up the manuals that way.
 
Here's the part # 6811- size 6x9.5x2mm O-ring. I hope this can help you.
 
adjusted the tie rod and put a bit of fuel line, sorted the issue, many thanks for the help, appreciate it
