Seen this new ''hop-up'' already?

New for HPI Savage owners is a Safety Engine Stop System, designed to make shutting off the nitro engine safe and easy. Just press the conveniently located stop button and the engine immediately stops, no fumbling to pinch the fuel line or covering the hot exhaust necessary. Careful attention has been paid to the design and location to prevent accidental shut-offs. The design incorporates a spring mounted nylon arm that slides against the flywheel when pressed, a safe way to stop the engine that avoids dangerous lean carburettor conditions associated with pinching the fuel line. Installation is simple, all of the necessary mounting points are already on every Savage ever made. Complete instructions and mounting hardware are included.

Thats pretty neat, but the nylon arm may wear out if it goes agianst the flywheel too much.

Why is it that foreign countries always get the cool stuff first?

I just touch the back of the flywheel with my tuning screwdriver, but that thing is a lot more convenient... I suppose I could make one easy enough...

You get two with the "Pro" version. You just stick these bad boys on your hands and stick them like you said on either side of the flywheel.

Seriously, I take it your only options for shutting a savage down is to plug the stinger or pinch the fuel line? That does kind of stink. I'm a firm believer in stopping the flywheel. If I had a savage, I'd probably get one of these. *shrug*

Great find.. Iam getting the 4.6 savage so I will be making one if it works out OK Ill make them up for other members for a large price...Ok small price..

That's a pretty cool idea. It'll wear, but probably not too bad. By the time it's too worn to use, you'd of getten your money's worth.

Only problem I could see is special circumstances where an object hits the thing just right and kills the engine. Gotta wonder how far it sticks out.

guess you probably can't use a fuel tank protector with that. looks like the mounting point for the fuel tank goes right over it. so that would mean the protector would have to go even farther out than that. so i guess that wont work. maybe I'm wrong though.

that looks pretty cool .i think ill be picking one up

rushrc has them should be available on the 9th his site says.. under $5 bucks why not?
