Saddle Packs?

Could someone tell me whats the purpose or advantage of saddle pack lipos vs a normal hard case lipo? HA, thanks!

i thought saddle packs where for cars that need batteries one on each side to balance the weight
saddle packs means one on each side

There is no advantage other then some cars need saddle packs, such as the losi 22 in mid-motor, or the Team durango SCT...
