What engine should I get to replace the 2.5 traxxas engine in my rustler?

I have a sirio tx-18 in my t-maxx, it works great and works with my easy start.

can i get an OS engine that will work in my rustler? Can I get the easy start to work?

I won't get something that I can't fit with an easy start / roto-start / or other type of quick starter (starter box, etc.)... I hate pullstarts.

anyone done any engine swaps on the rustler?

any suggestions?

A new 2.5 willl do just fine, and it will be the cheapest route. don't go big block in a rustler, they have enough trouble suspension wise keeping the 2.5 in line.

I dislike the 2.5, that is why I want to change engines. I got rid of the 2.5 in my maxx.... engine sucks, too difficult to tune, idle, etc... I can keep them running, its just that I want an OS or a sirio or something.

I dont know about you but my 2.5 engine that is in my rustler is very easy to start up and tune it as of matter of fact I dont need to tune it to start it up! Plus if you use the ez start 2 use an ez start 1 controller on it, cause on mine the ez start 2 controllor for some reason doesn't supply the smaller electric motor with efficient energy. I start my 2.5 rustler in about 10 sec from a cold engine. BTW every engine is a good engine just depends how well you take care of it.

yes

Yes, my 2.5 runs overall OK in my rustler. It was terrible in the T-maxx due to weight & whatnot.. however, I simply dislike the 2.5 engine & need an alternative. OS engines are MUCH better builds.

i HATE the 2.5, but that is my opinion, i had one in my maxx and right after i got done breaking it in i sold it because it ran like poop!(excuse my french). so then i just went and upgraded to a .21 conversion with a XTM 24.7 engine in mine now. i love it.

anwayz, if i was u i would go back and get me an O.S cv-rx .15 or something along that route.

I have the sirio .18 in my t-maxx, but I don't want to spend that much money on a replacement engine for the rustler. I really like the look of the fantom .18 engine. however, has anyone used an OS engine in a rustler? will the os 15 cv-rx work? I want to use my easy start.

the os .15 cv-rx will work in the rustler, BUT i am not sure if u can get an easy start onto it. also if u want a cheaper engine that still runs good and everything u could also look at a Megatech .16. they are inexpensive and they work good. and u can put the easy start on it with a conversion back plate.
