RC Driving Style
Hello,

I'm fairly new to the nitro rc world. I picked up a used t maxx 3.3. I was able to get it running after replacing a body parts that were broken by the previous owner. Ran fine for about a day. The next day, I noticed that the truck would start accelerating and taking off without me even hitting the throttle... it ran right into a curb as I still had a small amount of control with the steering, but it was going so fast it hit the curb with full force and broke the front right assembly. What a nightmare.

So, 60 bucks later, i've got the truck repaired again, and as I go to do its first run, it starts wanting to take off again! The throttle just goes faster and faster, even if I am not touching the receiver. I shut it off and don't want to run it yet in case it runs away and breaks again.

Any ideas on what could be causing this acceleration and running away?

sounds like your batteries are low/dead. check them if you can and see how they are. if you can't check them, just replace them and see how it works. do this for both the receiver and the controller

After getting New batteries in there. Turn on the RX and TX, remove air filter and operate throttle. Keep a eye on the carb slide and ensure it operates properly. Also check it with Tx turned off to see if maybe you are getting interference from something in the neighborhood. Before you start it. What kind of condition is your Throttle return spring in.

Pretty sure its the batteries i had the same problem with my Landslide and also crushed into a park truck...Once you have figure it out installed a OFNA fail safe to prevent more runaways.

a fail safe is good, but will not save you if you loose total battery power. you also need a throttle return spring on there just in case..
