I don't have much car experance but I have the RS4 super nitro belt drive kit which I got on a trade.....I see that it's a discontinued kit but I'v put it all together and it runs and drives great....the engine that came with it a .15fe is good but no low end needle to play with.....I see that tower hobby sell a os.18cv-rx engine.....so my question is... will this engine work and can I use the fe.15 muffler on it for now.......will get a pipe later on.

Yes, that will fit your RS4 and it will work with your muffler.

Have you checked to see if you can get gears and other drivetrain equipment just in case the additional power breaks anything? If you can't get it, then I'd be real careful about what you put in there.

there are a couple of places to get parts......but you think this motor will be to much and strip gears and such....:ponder2:
 
I ordered the os.18 but now that I think about it maybe I should have went with the .15.......but... to late now.I did get the 2 speed heavy duty transmission for it also.......maybe that will help the gear life.
 
The engine you got is a really good engine, you will love it. If you keep your gear mesh set good that should help a lot. Watch the belts and diffs for wear tho. My friends Nitro MT wore out the diffs after a while after he dropped an XTM .18 in it. Still ran, but the drivetrain got sloppy and he was gonna need new diffs soon.

I'm kind of excited.......I mean the car already runs good but with the OS and 2 speed it should rippp..right a long like some of the other on video I have seen......hope it works out.......with the heavy..er engine will I need to put on a shock ring or will it be ok you think.
 
the os .18 cv-rx is a beast. i have it in my rc10gt and i stripped a set of rear wheels in under two tanks. you have to watch it. if they car has a slipper setup USE IT!! lol
 
Everything should get her tomorrow....engine ....transmission....brake disk...ect....the next task will be to breakin the engine...Think I will try it the way the big boys say they do it....just crank and drive it a little rich a few times for 1 or 2 minutes at a time and let it cool at dead bottom center.....then go to 3 or 4 until it's ready.....hope it goes OK......never tried that way before.
