I just broke the return spring in my pull start. So I was thinking about a roto start....Wondering what others opinions are on the "roto vs pull". I have an "old school" nitro MT w/ the .15FE if that would be of any help....?
Thanks folks...

pullstarts are cheaper, roto starts are easer. its easer to find a tuning issue with a pull start as your hand will eventually get tired and you will resort to finding out why its not starting.. its evedent that your hands didnt get tired soon enough...LOUGHING MY ASS OFF!! sorry couldnt help it!!! the roto start can be kinda hard on the one way bearing. I've gone thru a couple of them in the past. i have always opted for a roto or easy start myself. you can also look into a bump box, wich you just set the chassis on a box with an electri motor and it hits the fly wheel thru the chassis. there pretty universal and could use it for almost any other nitro you get. keep in mind that with a roto or bump box, you will have to purchase a cheap 7.2v pack as well as a basic charger.. its just a matter of how much you wana spend. i think tower hobbies has a starter kit for bout $60.(bump box) comes with 2 packs and all youll need is a charger.

Thanks, itsalife. I'll look into maybe anotheer pull. How often do the pull starters go out though. Would it be wise just to have an extra as back up...?

Yep it would be wise to have a spare. Pullstarts last for a while if you are easy on them. You pull them out to far and it breaks the spring.
I prefer roto myself, damn a blister! One better... a blister with nitro in it..ouch
You ever have a bad day with the engine you'll quickly learn to hate a pullstart.

Pull Start

It has to be pull start it's less to carry around with you and you don't need to worry if your 7.2v battery is charged it is also more expensive, Batteries, handset, backplate.

the charger i got for my 7.2v was all asian and stuff and i honestly don't know what button makes it charge, so I just used my drill. Anyway, ended up destroying the backplate becuase 2 of the 3 screws fell out (thanks for not threadlocking HPI :( ) so pullstart now. i prefer pullstart becuase you don't have to carry a bloody drill / rotostart around with you.
