It's kind of hard to explain but the end parts should fit snugly inbetween the bumpers and bumper supports.

I bought one for my dad a few years back and they are indestructible. I stood on it full weight and lightly bounced....no flex. The rest of the truck may explode.....cage will be there. Yup pull the bumpers and pop that sucker in and you are GTG....Oh yeah bump.
