It starts,,,,,,runs for a second then stalls. it will stay going if I'm pushing the primer button on the top of the fuel tank tho. as soon as i push the primer button, it revs up but shortly after it dies,,,,but when i repush the primer, it comes back to life.there is alot of fuel spitting out of the exhaust. it coats my shock like melted butter over popcorn! the HSN is set at 3 1/2 turns .when i pump the primer to keep it running, it will rev up too....even changes into 2nd gear. funny tho....the other day it would run/idle perfectly where as now it wont and i didnt touch the needles since than. weird huh? it starts easially tho. oh,,,,,,,,,the idle is set at approx. 1 mm:surrender

since you havent touched your needles, check and replace your glow plug. it may be slightly lighting, but not enough, also check for air leaks. and make sure the gas cap seall is still good. if your sucking in air thru the top of the tank, it will never run right..

the needles havent been changed since it was running last, but they have been changed from the factory settings. when it was running, i just had it on the test bench idling but never gave it throttle. i know the needles are all out of wack,i just got to find out where they should be. its not a popular brand truck, its a "FS Racing Team" just a cheaper chinese make.

ur lsn should be around flush with the housing try 4 on the hsn and re work it from there

Sounds like the needles are wonky. Your LSN is probably too lean causing the engine to starve at idle. That's why when you push the primer it jumps back to life. And if you have fuel pouring out the exhaust, you might be a bit rich on the HSN. It's a bit confusing because of the way the 2 needles interact. Your best bet is to reset the engine to it's factory settings and retune from there. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that brand so it might take some digging to find the right settings.

I had a similar running problem a while back and ended up finding that my exhaust port gasket was completely toasted. Ran great after replacement.

Check It Out!!!

this is a very insightfull fs thread.. this guy seems to be working out the bugs with these rigs.. there is also stock carb settings in there. they are on the first post. you should read the intire thread as i saw many great tips to these rigs. every body seems to have simular problems. and there are a lot of good fixes for them as well..good luck!!

sounds like not enough pressure in return line to me. i would check the exhaust gasket as stated and for air leaks in the tank and lines.

Candyman has pretty much nailed it. I recommend ditching the primer tank. They are just providing one more place for an air leak, and it's a common problem. If you have leaks, you can't maintain pressure in the system and you'll never get it tuned correctly.

For starters, richen the LSN about a 1/4 turn. If it keeps running, let it come up to temp, then adjust it slightly for good take off. You'll probably have to adjust your idle at the same time, since the LSN will affect it. After getting up to half speed, adjust the HSN (probably leaner) for WOT. Wide Open Throttle.

Let us know.

thanks for the info guys. i can't do too much here now cuz its snowing outside like crazy. soon as it clears and i can get out, ill be in touch
