It does look a lot like a buggy. The body makes it look like a rally car kind of thing.
 
It looks like it would be worth a shot and I agree on the looking like a buggy.
 
lol so they took the wing off and put different tires and body on it now its a stadium truck apparently....
 
From those two pics that looks like the only difference on the chassis. Of course with the removal of the wing and different wheels and tires.
 
Wow, seen it before in an rc rag but didn't give it much thought. Looks like a BAMF to me.
 
The truggy is the Robitronics Mantis, and is a great entry level RTR.
The Short Course is the same chassis yes, and thats what makes it a good all round truck.
It comes with a Force .28 and handles great, although for a basher needs a taller clutchbell because it tops out fairly quickly.
Its designed on the Paris Dakar type racers and is well worth the purchase price.
 
Interesting, and I agree about the nasty looking lid. Hard to tell, though. It might not be bad with a decent paint job. Anything but that.
