I just came across these Rlaarlo RC's last week. The 917 caught my eye and when I started looking for reviews on them, I came across the 787. I found a few videos and by the end of the day, had ordered a Carbon 787. One thing I was not sure of was whether it came with a gyro. I contacted the mothership and they replied back that the 787 did not have a gyro. For the time being, I installed a Traxxas TQI receiver with TSM. I am planning on installing a Spektrum system with AVC within the next week. I took the 787 out this morning and made a few runs using 2s and 3s batteries. In the small parking lot where I made the runs, the 2s ran 39mph and the 3s ran 56mph. Everything else except for the TX and RX was bone stock. I am pretty impressed. I am thinking hard of getting a 917 carbon.

rlaarlo is making some really big moves in the rc world, every rc owner in my house (4) of us has one at least.
2) omni terminator carbons , 1) omni steel
2) xts rallys 1 steel/ 1 carbon .
these things are really fast and the carbons are definitely worth the price difference, along with amazon parts access.
nice car, btw

OP, have you found the speed run threads on these cars yet? If not, go searching because there are really fun and informative threads on them. Great cars for the money.
