Hi all, recently i bought a second hand revo 2.5 off a forum, the engine is a brand new 2.5r, right then, when i engage the throttle it jerks forward, thats it, I've checked the meshing and that seems ok, i also checked the spur gear, theres a little 1.5 mm chip in one tooth and thats about it, when i looked at the brake it looks like the brake pads are being squashed against the the disk brake but i can't get to the screws to loosen it cus the shocks are in the way, please help me,

Oli.

There are 4 screws on the underside of the chassis that hold the tranny in. Loosten those screws and the tranny will come out. Then you can adjust the breaks. Can you roll the truck with out the enging running? If not I would pull the tranny and look inside the gears might be messed up.

i will do thanks, and yeah i can roll it without the engine on, but when pushing it back it makes a horrible grinding noise, i hope the diffs are shredded because I'm skint :normal:

That sounds to me like something in the tranny. The gears are inexpensive, as is the spur gear(I recommend you change yours because of the chipped tooth). Check it out and let us know.

i had some time today so i thought i would get the gearbox out, but I've baffled, i don't know how to get the blinking thing out :help:,

If you are going to remove the whole tranny,

A)There are 4 screws in the bottom that hold the middle skid plate on. Remove those.

If and I say if...the 2.5 is like the 3.3. B)There will be 2 screw pins attaching the tranny to the drivetrain. One in the front and one in the back of the tranny unit. Remove these pins with your allen wrench) C)Disconnect the shifting connector(if applicable) and D)the throttle/brake connector as well. (Disconnect these at the tranny) don't try to dissconect them at the servo) Now the tranny should lift right out. Anyway, I hope this helps....

right me and my dad thought there must be a simpler way so he one of the hudy driver things and with a pair of pliers and his big muscles he snapped it so i could fit it in between the shocks and the brakes, i loosened them evenly, i tried it out but same thing keeps happening, also a new problem has popped up, when idleing nicely when i take the glow starter out it cuts out instantly, I've heated it up with my mums hair dryer anyway so it isnt a question of heat and I've got a new os.8 plug that has been used twice, the engine has only 3 tanks through it aswell, please help me,

Oli.

anyone got any idea? because i don't have a clue whats wrong with it, I've asked some people and they said it might be clutch problems but as I'm new to rc i don't have a clue what to do :help: ,

Oli.

Take some pictures and show us the tranny and the brakes. Make sure the pics are closeup so we can see what is going on.

i didn't quite know what pic you wanted of the tranny so i took a pic of the brakes and the meshing ,
