Savage 25 -Vs- JATO!

(Change of plans, I got myself the Jato instead of the Revo) Hey guys I'm just wondering how well do this two RC trucks compare? Which one jumps/runs the best. What about top-end, how do they compare....:ponder2:

i have one and ONLY one word for you SEARCH...

this topic has been discussed, argued, and polled. look around maby run a search for "savage vs revo" once your done reading the hundreds of posts on this topic. then if you still have questions ill be glad to help :)

the savage would be better at bashing and the revo would be better on the track.

You might want to narrow your question by asking about a specific Savage models seeing as how there is now 4 versions of them out there. There is only one Revo version. You have the Savage 25, the SS, the LE and now the 'X' edition.

Revo is not a speed demon out of the box. It is not slow, but I would not say it is faster or quicker than the Savage SS. However, it holds it's own on a track because once in a race, the size of the motor does not matter as much as the suspension's capabilities.

Well the are cutting down on the amount of Savages Revo. The 25 and LE have been discontinued I believe.

I've posted this many times, but, if you are racing get the Revo. If you are bashing get the Savage.

Yeah, I only mentioned that there are 4 because a lot of them are still around at the LHS's.

When is the X to be out? I know you are dying to get one!

They both jump very well, as for running I think the HPI engine is easier to tune and holds a tune better, but they both run great, as far as top speed like Revo Rancher said it will depend on witch Savy you compare it to. I think the Revo is a little faster than the SS 25, but not as fast as the SS 46. What do you plan to do with it, race bash or both?

Well guys scratch the "REVO" off. I ended up buying a Traxxas Jato from ebay, will be getting it in a couple of days. can't wait to try it out against my friends Savage 25. I've been told that on asphalt I should take him, hands down. Maybe offroad is a different story, wonder how it will compare offroad? Thanks again for all your info & advice. Now I would really apreciate more feedback on the Jato -Vs- Savage 25? :ponder2:

Jato will smoke the Savage on pavement. On fairly smooth dirt, same. It is not a basher so it will get you on the rougher stuff and loose gravel/ dirt. You have to remember it is only 2WD and the Savage is 4WD.

Ditto.

I've never seen a Jato but I hear it's sick how fast it is:)

Well guys I've had the JATO for a couple of weeks now. On-road it just blows my friends Savage (http://www.hpiracing.com/index2.htm) away from start to finish. Even when he installed the 4.6 from the Savage SS. I know they are different type of trucks but, hes the one who wanted to race me, lol....
On dirt or gravel its a different story. The Savage hooks up with the four tires, while the Jato strugles to get good traction. Another friend is about to get a monster truck too, only hes going with the REDCAT VOLCANO (http://www.redcatracing.com/vehicle.cfm?vehicle_id=6).Overall I love my Jato, but I'm really thinking of getting me a monster truck too....:ponder2:
What would you guys suggest I should get so I can bash with my buddies "monster trucks"

Kinda like racing a army tank versus a crotch rocket, but whatever floats your boat I guess..

If your looking for a basher, get a savage. Definatly proven them self to be if not the best, one of the best bashers out there. I love my savy.
