I have put up a video of Team RD Racing running a qualifier round at this years Region 11 Roar Regionals this past weekend. I am running the REVO with white wheels and teammate is running the yellow wheels. He TQ'd and I qualified 2nd. I ended up winning the A Main. The video has an edgy song with some borderline words so theres your warning.

Video can be found here RD Racing video page

Very nice! Truck actually handles well when driven with some skill. First time I've seen one actually used to race instead of bashing.

Roy,

I see you are using the new starter boxes. What engine are you running? Are you going to be at the Pro Series in Canby the end of September?

Anything else done special to the truck that is not stock?

Thanks,

Glenn

Holy cow...! Dude I got a Revo and it does not handle like that. I've been in two races but PLEASE let me know what I have to do to make my Revo hall ass like that... I'm trying to really travel to races. Please give me some advice to practice with. Did you lower the ride height, Is the engine stock, Dude please hit me back becuz right now I got people scoping out the Revo in north Cali from the bleechers and I'd like to drop their mouths like mine did when I saw that video.... :hammer:

LOL, the handling is one of the things we have up our sleeze. It is production right now and is about 2 weeks away from release.

Both of our engines are stock 2.5R's, both run at 220-230 degrees. We run Traxxas Top Fuel 20% and Traxxas medium plugs. I have alot of experience with the 2.5, racing Rustlers for the past 2 years. The acceleration comes from a few things. I am running a 40T spur gear with the stock ratio gear set but I have my shift points set close together for our track. The EZ start is removed and the Do it yourself Forward Only Conversion has been performed. So there is alot of rotating mass gone from the engine.

Glenn,

Several of us are talking about coming down to the Pro Series in Canby. I missed our NW Champ Series down there so I would love to go for the Pro Series.

Roy,

It is exciting to see how fast and complete you are with hop-ups for the Revo. I hope you make it to Canby as I would love to get a chance to chat with you and check out some of your products and ideas for this great truck.

nice driving there...but i noticed at about 1 min into the video the front right suspension broke/popped out from a solid but not so nasty case into the jump...

Where is Canby??? Can you tell me what progressive rate you were uzin in the front and back. It's real important to me becuz I want to be able to put the Savage & Monster GT down for the count! :boxing: If you can explain it to me I could probably take it from there. I'm definitly down to diggin in my pocket for the hair pin turn formula

Yes that was during warmup for the 3rd round of Quals. I popped a lower right front pillow ball. I was able to simply pop it back in witha firm smack and it ran fine during that round. However, during th 4th round I had a smokin run going and it popped out putting me out of that round.

I had to replace the pillow block and had no more problems.

rx7r695p,

We are both using the P2 with the stock springs. I ran 40Wt shock oile while CRaig stayed with 30Wt. I had my rear upper a arm pin in the lower hole but raised it up bacause the track got so rough.

Roy

Did you move the pitch on the front end also??? :argue: I think you could of made the whole triple.... that's just my opinion... Again, nice drivin

Yes I was running Steve Slayden basic setup which includes running all the upper shims to the front changing the caster angle giving more steering.

We made the triple a few times messing around, but not during quals. There wasn't a whole lot of parts around if we broke something so we had to take it a little easy.

Love the video man, damn good soundtrack too. Makes me want to get mine sooner and build a damn track in my back yard! Yeehaw!
