Yes, you're clutch is not set up correctly. It should NOT turn the CB until you rev it up.
Take it apart and correct the problem before you try to start it. If it starts, you'll have a runaway. You might have installed the shoes backwards or made a mistake on the springs.

ugh oh. i used the stock spring on the integy 3 shoe conversion. it didnt come with instructions so I'm kinda confused how to put the 3 little springs on so i used the wrap around one from the old shoes.

can you help instruct me on how to put the on correctly so i dont mess it up, that would be greatly appreciated

that coild be why it wont start.. and your killing the battery pretty fast... I'm sorry i can't help you with your clutch. integy is famous for that... on your fly wheel, do you have 2 or 3 pins> that hold nthe clutch that is.. I'm cinda confused by all the diffrent things you haVE WITH STARTING THE TRUCK.. i m een by..charge this, and plug this in.. primming with pull start.. on top of the clutch springs.. if you dont mind, i would like to give you some of my advise.. you have to open it up any way, so put the stock clutch back in, put the e-z start back in, charge one 7.2 battery.. and try to get it started.. that will elimanate all the other nonsense you have going on over there.. priming with a pull start on a gas tank that has no primer button could take some practice.. the e-z start will do everything for you.. tell you if you have a bad plug, low battery, or flooded.. to prime. just pinch the stinger..DUDE.. JUST KEEP IT SIMPLE... i want you to be out there bashing your new rig.. you deserve it.. YA HEAR!!..

ok shes up and running now. but its very slugish when i hit the gas. i put back on my old clutch set up and it works but it seems to be not catching the clutch bell to turn the spur. any opinions? i might have my clutch setup messed up i dont really know

so your saying the motor sounds clear, right.. not boging, just reving? check your slipper clutch.. tighten it up a little..CONGRATS.. YOUR CLOSE!!!

ok now how would i do that cuz it is possible. i put in a new steel spur gear and i took off the center bolt and the whole slipper came off. how do i adjust it?

its tight in there.. and by the sound of what you changed that could be your easy fix problem... on the other end of the spur gear, coming out of the bak of the transmision is a rod that sticks out.. it has a hole in it.. that is for an allen key. it holds the back of the slipper clutch so it doesn't spin..with you needle nose plyeres and the allen key in the end of that transmission rod. you can tightin it by spinning the t5he plyers clock wise.. MAKE SURE!! that the slim disc in between the clutch shoes and the clucth fins are in the little groove.. its hard to explain.. the slim disc in the middle fits in between these little nipples that stick out on the slipper clutch disc.. i'll take a pic if you want

ok i had my slipper to tight, good thing i didnt break anything!. i can move the spur gear with the hex key in the shaft like it said. theres still alot of tension on it though. does it have to spin freely or should it have that very tight tension on it?

So all is now good, and you need to tweak.
For more low end punch, lean your LSN a tiny bit at a time till it takes off nicely. Keep an eye on your temps.

YAYYYYY THANK YOU ROLEX AND EVERYONE FOR HELPING!!! i can't wait to take it out for a nice spin when its not raining out. i really need to get some plasti-dip to waterproof my ride.

and i will watch my temps. i have an on board temp gauge from traxxas. now I'm going to go get my fail safe on and set.

hopefully i can see if i can get that 3shoe integy clutch working. i heard its a great thing to have. but i can't figure out those damn 3 little springs. and no freakin directions!!! if anyone has put an integy 3 shoe clutch on there revo and can explain it to me that would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks again everyone!!!!!!

Here's the build sheet in .pdf for the Savage X SS and its' 3 shoe clutch. The clutch build is on page 29. You probably have the same configuration as this since you have 3 springs.
Just make note of the direction the shoes and the flywheel turns to throw out the trailing end rather than the lead. Once you see how the first spring goes, you'll never have to give it a second thought again. When it's assembled you'll be able to pull out a shoe, and it will snap back to center. If it doesn't, you've done something wrong.

crap my adobe isnt working and i can't see this page. i really need that info. can you help me out

Hang in there, I'm still working on it. I scanned it at a very high resolution to make it as clear as possible and now I'm breaking it into a couple of smaller components that I can upload here. I should have them for you in about 15 more minutes.

Here you go....
If you save it to your computer, you'll also be able to enlarge it even more, and print it out as a .jpg if you need it for bench top reference.

Click the yellow bar to enlarge. You'll get a pretty good view of it.

Just remember, it turns COUNTER clockwise and the hole is on the leading edge and goes on the pin.
