today when i got my new revo i put some parts on it. i put a new 3shoe clutch with the spring that was rapped around it from the old one. there was three little tiny springs in a bag that i didnt know what to do with so i left them out. i dont know if thats what it not making it start but it might. next i put on a new clutch bell and spur gear by integy and did the paper method to make sure it was the right distance apart. i got a new battery and charger for the EZ start. i got a dira traxxs 1500 battery and hobbico 905 charger/discharger. now I've heard that if my EZ start battery isnt fully charged it will not start. there might be problem number 2. I'm not sure why i can't get my truck to turn over and need some help.

anyone please =]

Matt-

Turn your flywheel by hand and see if you can feel the compression. If it isn't properly locked to the engine, it won't start, since it's the flywheel that keeps it going.

The 3 little springs are one for each shoe, but if the old spring fits them, it probably will work. However, the clutch shoes won't effect the engine starting.

The EZstart is great, as long as you disconnect the glow wire and use a separate igniter. It doesn't take long to lose the proper glow when the same battery is struggling to turn the engine.

were back here again hey rolex. yes the engine has some compression. i can hear the little huccup it makes when it gets hard to turn. I'm going to try a seperate ignitor right now and see how it works ill let you know in a minute

push down fuel cap, and sqeeze stinger!!

hey matty.. check to see if its priming! that could be your problem.. the easy start has no problem running the glow plug.. if you notice. there is no primer button on the tank.. if the tank cap is not sealed it wont prime... as your hitting the button squeeze the rubber stinger on the pipe. that will creat suction and get it primed... with out doing that it wont start.. also check the green light on the starter wond.. it has a check light to see if the glow plug is good... if that second light is not on, the plug is bad.. another great traxxas idea..

i went with the seperate ignitor and primed it and went to go start it and my ez start battery went dead. so that means i have to discharge it or can i just charge it again

ok just a little confused about the charger. from 2-4 is in the green and 4-6 is in the red. i want it in the green right?

with the external glow starter... are you 100% sure its charged? does it have a glow meter on it? if not.. plug the little blue wire in... and just use that... if you find your just holding down the button... STOP.. and recheck everything.... i hold the stinger down intell i get a little sputter out of it.. then release it.. if it floods, the starter will turn off. open up your plug and get the fuel out of there... what is the carb set at..do you need the stock settings?

If you're EZstart battery went dead, that already tells me there wasn't enough of a charge to light the glow plug at the same time.
Charge it correctly. Don't rush it. Also make sure your igniter is fully charged and start it tomorrow.

i got it from robmob he said everything was good before he sent it to me. he had it running but he used the pull start and glow igniter. i bought all new parts for it and now it dont start. how long should it take to charge a 1500 mAh NiCd battery?

yeah your right I'm so excited to have it hear and i filled it up with gas and all. ill just wait till tomorrow to get it going right, I'm so tired it feels like my eyes are bugging out of my head right now lol.

I know it was all good when he sent it, but NOTHING will start without properly charging the batteries first. If all you have is the plug in wall charger, it's an overnighter.

yeah i got my igniter on charge. just put in a fresh glow plug. drained the gas and got my EZ start battery charging =] thanks for bringing me to my senses. i can easyally over do it if I'm not careful lol.

good point rolex.. i saw the rig.. there is nothing wrong with it.. so dont get frustrated.. a brand new fully charged pack should get you days of starting..

One more bit of advise Matty. When you're putting it up for short periods of time, don't drain the fuel.
If you're putting it away for storage, drive it dry.
At NO time should you put the fuel from the tank back into the container since each time it is exposed to air it undergoes a rapid evaporation. If you do that routinely, by the time you start to get to the bottom of your gallon, you'll be trying to retune an engine that just won't run right because it hasn't got enough volatile content in the fuel.

GREAT now you tell me lol. well its brand new fuel has been in the tank for no more than 45 min or so. i hope it wont ruin it but i got three quarts of top fuel from traxxas. ill crack open a new on tomorrow just to make sure. thanks for that tip. ill make sure i wont do that no more! and ill talk to you guys tomorrow about this. thanks alot for the help!

Hey, doing it this one time won't make a difference. Just don't do it as a habit. The fuel you just opened is absolutely fine.
I hope you'll have a great day tomorrow. Keep us posted.

EDIT: DON'T open the next one till you've emptied the present one. Keep it sealed tight.

alright sounds good. if i run into any more problems ill keep it to this thread. have a good night all I'm going to catch some Zzzz's here in a few

i had it started for a few seconds there. stupid EZ start was my problem. i put on the pull start on and it started for a few seconds till my glow plug ignitor went dead =[. but it was definetly showing signs of life. i just have to wait till i get my glow ignitor fully charged. than it should be up and running

I thought you were also going to put the igniter on charge overnight. There's a reason to keep another one as a back up. I've never used it, but I've always had an igniter on standby that takes a standard D cell battery. When your other ones fail, you have instant power from a local store battery or a flashlight in the house or the car.

I also see you're not on line right now. I sure hope your out tearing up the lawn.

what happened was that i pluged it in and some how the end of the charger where it plugges into the igniter it got like unscrewed and i didnt check the light to make sure so i had to start over again from whenever i made that post. so i figured in another hour or two ill try it again so if i have any problems i can get back to you guys.

i just got one question. when i pull the pull starter the truck moves every time i pull. is that normal, or is my clutch messed up?
