I recently replaced the parts I broke from a crash awhile back... and took it out for a burn yesterday. It worked great... No issues at all. But today i took it out and the throttle was acting up...

When the revo is not running and right at my feet it works flawless, I even got someone to take the remote away from me and walk 100 or so feet and the failsafe did not kick in once. Seemed like it was good to go.

But as soon as i start it up and go for a rip it lasts about 5 seconds and then the red light on the opti drive will stay red for 2 seconds and then go out and start working again. I bypassed the opti just to see if it was faulty... but when i did so the throttle would act erratically (which leads me to presume that the optidrive is indeed doing its job). If i held the throttle pinned you could hear the throttle change anywhere from 70 percent to 100 percent... Its almost like there is some interference that only affects the throttle servo, but the steering seems fine.

I've tried many things, but it would just not run right for me..

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Man that is strange. I've heard of antennas coming loose where they are soldered to the board in the RX box. If it wasn't running and everything works good, perhaps the vibration of the motor and running it is causing a loose connection to separate fully. Just a guess on my part though.

I got rid of my Opti Drive when I did the FOC.

I had something like that happening on my Revo. I found out it was the after market receiver from Spektrum. I talked to Traxxas support and they told me that the Opti-drive is not compatible with the Spektrum receiver. So I ended up using the Low Battery Warning Fix that uses a Y harness. Because some aftermarket receivers lower the voltage, the Opti-Drive senses it and will go it to a fail safe mode. For me it would do this intermittently (about 50ft away). The Y harness I used was the one that I took off of the truck when I went to a single steering servo. This cured all of my problems. If you have a stock receiver then it might be the Opti-Drive. If the red light is coming on it sounds like it might be a voltage issue. I hope that this helps.

stupid question but are all the batteries charged i know when my pack was low it would do that

let me know if you need a new opti drive module or sensor. i did a FOC cuz i race and dont need it no more

So after more messing around with it... It turns out it was the servo... I ran down to the hobby shop today and picked one up and now it runs fine...

Which is weird because the servo seemed otherwise in good condition... I guess the fail safe also senses failure in the servo's.... I dunno

Thanks a bunch for the suggestions...

Mitch
