Hey Good ppl

I have just acquired some more nitros to restore this winter.
None are going obviously and will require a proper clean.
They are going to make an awesome project.
Both game with TX and some spare wheels and stuff.
Total cost, under $100 usd

What do you fellas think?

EDIT: Mustang is now finished and runs great!

Great looking cars at a steal! I was converting one of mine to a drift, but the price on the drift arms. 👻

You need a plug on parts? I got a few in the states.

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda jealous. 😁

Hey Mate

Thanks!

I actually just realized that the front A arm on the mustang is kaput.
They must have crashed it on that side.
So yea, need the front A arms please :)

Cheers

Pm sent. I would purchase the cheaper ones, send them to the guy I talked of and have him convert them to 3d stl. This will give you many.

What size spurrs are on those?

Maybe try and carve an arm out of uhmw plastic?

You stole those dude!!! Nice find!!

Thanks all!

Does anyone know, if the conrod lube hole faces the engine or the backplate, I again forgot to take note, and need the piston to be going the same way in as it was broken in.

Its not very clear from the exploded view.
Damn it, might have to open another engine, just to see.

Anyone that has taken Nitro star engine apart lately?

Cheers

Don’t know if you have access to a 3d printer but I have made parts for my cars. I print them with nylon and they are very strong

Try youtube, type the notor in and look rebuilds and what not. What motor are w talking about?

Unfortunately I do not own a 3d printer, nor do I have the knowledge to design one for it.

Something I was looking at getting into, in the near future.

Dont think I have ever seen such badly rusted engine before, especially the crankcase at the bottom.
Shame I did not take a photo before putting it trough a very hot ultrasonic bath.

Came out like brand new, but needed almost 1 hr of cooking.

Lubed and as new!

I am new to 3d printing myself. Only bought mine a couple months ago. There are free program sites out there that made it pretty easy to design at least these. Check out a site called thingiverse. There are tons of created designs that are totally free including rc car parts.
Amazing little machine, that ultrasonic cleaner is.
Dont know how I managed without it before.
I’m gonna have to get one of those

Hey Chubaka

I was wondering?

Does this car even need converting to to a "drift model" what would that involve?
I thought it already sits too close to the ground?

Are these the drift arms you are talking about?
How are they different to stock arms?

I am trying to figure out how much HSP on road nitro car parts are actually compatible with HPI RS4.
Wondering if the HSP suspension arms would with HPI counterpart.
HSP versions seems like an exact copy.

Cheers

85056 is the hpi drift arms. The regular arms are 5 or 10mm longer giving 200mm. The arms here I want to say add up to 190mm width, and you can play with wheels and hexes for 200mm but not 100.

I know the dogbones on each corner are 6x47mm, centers are 6x112mm rear and 6x14mm front.

Thd stamdard rs4s are 6x52 bones on each corner, 6x60 rear and I think a 6x52 up front, can't find the other center shaft number.

The other differences is 86331, 86332, 86333- HD cups, and front and rear pinion shaft, 85055 upper deck, 86329 hd gears thar is also geared for wheel speed, and the main aluminum chassis. All else seems swapable, and I have ordered the hd cups and front rear ring pinion for my regular rs4 3 evo.

Converting to a drift would require 85055 upper deck which I can locate for $80USD, and the 6x14mm bone I can't find. With that said, if its a non drift model, just slap drift tires on. It may not handle as well as the drift model, but should spin around. I drifted a lil bit on regular tires in a warehouse.
85030 also has sway bar mounts.
