Resolution: Don't be a Wenzel

You may have heard the term Wenzeled. I means to rip someone off on the internet, and it means to be caught, exposed and owned for doing it. Wenzeled has entries in wikipedia and urban dictionary now so it will probably be around for a while. BUT - have you ever seen the original thread that started it? Its amazing for the level of stupidity and arrogance of the original character, Charlie Wenzel. Its on Pirate 4x4, one of my other favorite sites (second to rcnt of course!). Its been heavily edited, and kind of hard to follow at first but it starts cookin by the end of the first page. Its a valuble lesson to anyone who isn't naturally inclined to be an honest seller!

Whew! Taking another break. I made it to page 58 today. If you skipped, you missed some hysterical photoshop work and some top shelf detective work. This guy has made internet history with over 7,000,000 (yes, that's SEVEN MILLION) hits a month on that rip off thread. There hardly seems to be a site left that hasn't linked the thread. All for $25.
It's a serious warning to anyone who thinks they can hide in the anonymity of the internet after Wenzeling someone.
They even posted a satellite photo of his neighborhood from Google Earth.

Well, Scott, I might want to buy a NEW ring and pinion gear for a 2wd truck, as long as they are used and you want an extra $25 AFTER you cash the check. LMFAO over his stupidity.
I also did a google search on him and found an 'apology' thread from him in the same forum.
There's not one iota of a doubt in my mind that his very respectable father finally grabbed him by his tiny little sack and MADE him word it that way for the disgrace he brought on the family name.

I read most of that one, but also started skipping pages toward the end.
He really got owned big time, especially with his past criminal behavior. It's actually good to see this happening since it's a warning to others. It's all over the WORLD, in a matter of days. What an embarassment for that jerk.

Anyway, I'd much rather get a Lewinski than be Wenzeled.

That's the part that I don't undestand. They just don't get it. I know a guy that tends to tell stories now and then and he's the same way. If he feels like he's getting backed into a corner he'll flip the argument so bad he'll be trying to convice you that you're arguing a different point than you had been the entire time. I guess most people like that just won't give in and admit they're bullshittin'. It's like an addiction or something... like gambling. they know they're gonna lose more yet they continue to do it anyways with that ultra slim chance they might catch a break. :nono:

I kinda' got sucked along once I got into them. Wentzel didn't seem to respond since HUNDREDS of posts were all added on the same day, Nov 12. At the time he had already been caught in his bs, but I'm sure he never knew how bad it was about to get. Sick Nicko, on the other hand was blocked from replying. That thread is still live, but I'm not going back there now. My eyes are still worn out.
