I have a few nicd batt packs from random rc cars that I used to ouw and I use them for experiments. But I had the idea that I could use them in my
E-maxx since they arent being used a lot. I have no idea what mah they are but I'm sure they dont have alot. They have 8cells and total voltage of 9.6 each. I was going to buy a few resistors till th e voltage would become 8.4. Would this be ok for the batts. Or should I try to take one cell out ofthe pack? I migt have to since my charger can only go up to 7cells but I think the resistors lowering the voltage will telll the charger that it's only 7 cells:\ Anyone have a take on this?

Ok. Ill take one cell off. One more question though. Do yall know what would happen to the charger if I charged it anyways? I'm not gonna do it  I'm just very curious to know what would happen.:stick:

I think the result would be an incorrect reading, and a poor charge to the batteries. You might also damage one or both.
When it comes to anything electrical, NEVER push it beyond its' limits.

SMOKE!, blown fuses and nice burnt smell to your charger in about 10 seconds.
My charger says 5-7 cells, I tried to charge 8 "AA" batts with it in one shot......see the above results.:hehe:
Listen to Rolex!
