How exactly do you replace a main engine bearing? I found out that I am getting a pretty good fuel leak at my main bearing and just thought it would be smart to ask how to get it out before I start prying at it with a screwdriver. j/k. Do you have to strip the engine completely apart or can you do it just by taking the flywheel off and getting it that way? Any help would be appreciated.

I think you would need the whole crankshaft out to remove the bearing, so yes, you have to completely take it apart.

Take everything off/out the engine.
Warm it up with a heat gun or hair dryer.
Put a 3/8" socket extension through the back of the block and tap it out.
BTW you are talking about the front bearing, not the main bearing.
If you need to get the main bearing out, reheat the engine and pop the backside of the engine against a wooden surface. They'll usually fall right out.
If not you need a bearing puller.

i just replace mine
place it in the oven at 250-300 for 5-6 minute and the take a wooden sppon or something that wont damage anything and give it a tap. since i didnt have a wooden sppon i use a 90* o-ring pick and placed it int he gap and taped and the turned it 180 and tap and it poped right out

I'm lucky, my buddy has the Ofna bearing puller. It makes life so easy.
