can antone tell me what's the easy way of getting the tyres off my rims without busting them, they are off the gs truck so big tyres not little one's.cheers
There are two methods, that I know of. One is to boil the tire/rim
and then remove. The other is to put them in the freezer. Let them freeze and then remove tire from rim. I have personnaly tried the boiling technique and they did come off but it did take a little coaxing. For the stubborn spots I used a little acetone (fingernail polish remover). Just enough to get things moving.
If you're trying to save the rims and don't care about the tires (worn out ?), then I would simply cut the tire from the rim and if you have a Dremel tool, carefully grind away what little is left.
So what are you going to do with the rims that had the tires on them? If I were you I'd just buy a new set of shoes for the new rims and have 2 fully functional sets of tires.
You could also buy some CA debonder (works like the fingernail polish remover). This stuff breaks down the CA glue and allows you to remove the tire from the rim. If that fails, you could always try a spot of tire flavored tea. Just make certain to let the tires steep for about twenty minutes.
