I am looking for the easiest way to remove the chrome from RPM wheels. My Clawz have seen better days and it is time to dye them. I found out that denatured alcohol and a toothbrush will get the chrome off, but it takes way too much time and elbow grease. I am worried about how the nylon will react when soaked in a solvent like alcohol so I haven't tried that yet. Does anyone have a tried and true method that will not harm the wheels?

Try a dremel tool with the soft wire wheel or the buffing wheel.

I heard that soaking in simplegreen overnight works also. I believe it has to be undiluted though.

Easy off, it will strip it off easily in about 15 min, it works great! Same thing for T bumpers, once they get scratched up hit em with easy off, come back in 15 min and they will be stripped clean with no harm done to the plastic.

Easy off is the way to go. a wire brush if not carefull could harm the plastic.
