I am putting my truck back together and when mounting the engine how do you want it to sit up the gears ? I put it in and the gears would only move when pushing it back but when i pushed it forward they wouldn't move is that because the flywheel was too close to the gears ? is there a easy of doing this any help is much appreciated

Put a thin strip of paper between the CB and spur gears. After tightening your engine, you should be able to pull the piece of paper out without it tearing. You want it to have nice 'gear marks' on it but if it tears, then the mesh is too tight. Either way, too loose or too tight can strip your spur gear. Once you get the hang of it, you won't even need a piece of paper to do it. It's a good idea to keep extra spur gears handy. I stripped a couple before I got it right. Once you get it right, go back and remove 1 screw at a time and loctite them.
