This was Radio Shack's top-of-the-line vehicle about fifteen years ago.

The rear tires are worn to slicks. I still have a set of fresh factory knobbies. I broke so much stuff I ended up buying a model that had been returned for radio problems. I cannibalized pretty much every part off of it.

I had gone so far as to spec the nylon bushings on the front axles and that rear one-piece differential/motor drive/solid axle combo and replace them with ball bearings.

This thing still runs like a champ.

Yes, that's Rafael in the driver's seat.

the turtles are awesome i dont know how many episodes i watched as a kid they are great nice car man thats a classic

Does it take a huge stick pack? Can you actually take it apart or is it a hunk of plastic?

There wasn't much to it. The esc and receiver were all integrated into that one board. The motor and servo leads were soldered to that. You can see how the 7.2v battery fit in there. A hinged lid on the bottom provided access to the 7.2v and the 4 AA receiver batteries.

Lovely :)

Man, I love the classics too!
I see Radio Shack took more than one leaf from Tamiya in that design.
Reminds me so much of the old Grasshopper/Hornet type design.

It also shows your age and proves beyond dispute you are an RC addict!
