i had my car for 2-3 years now it outlasted all my other cars only thing went out was the trany. 20bucks and the engine cranks within 3 pulls

Unfortunately i will say i dislike Redcat and refuse to touch their products.. but i will support my claim..

2. Their customer service is the worst! EVERYTIME i ordered parts from theor website, it would take about a month for the order to be processed and then another 3 weeks to ship. iw ould call many times and my order "was accidently misplaced"

3. The vehicle was terrible. The dogbones on my vehicle would break almost every run. i took it to my LHS and had them look at it and even install a couple sets but the redcat parts would snap like tooth picks. Customer service insisted it was a bad batch (all 5 replacements) and took another month to get me my replacements.

I have never waited more then a week for a parts order from Redcat.
I also have never broken any dog bones. It could have been a bad batch, it happens. I don't know when you had your Redcat but I have heard that in the last year or so, their quality has improved alot.

it could have been that i was that unlucky but it happened and i have no intention of going back..

ok ill admit the motor and carb runs like a champ but everything else is crap. i already needed to replace the front a arm, the diff gear and one of the geers that goes next to the clutch bell. as well as minor stuff breaking here and there. its just a pos and i dont care if u guys like it or not i was trying to save future rc hobbiest from buyng a pos like me and waisting there money

Don't be too specific now! I broke the plasic piece on the chassis.

Anything that was mentioned above is normal breakage. Nothing outta the ordinary. It sounds like a slipper adjustment would have saved a little down time. Do they have a slipper clutch?

wow.. interesting. so now i have a REAL problem. I'm not sure what i should do with all 4 of my redcats.. beings that they are junk and all. i havent had any issue that wasn't resolved with my redcats. they are good affordable rigs. but they arent perfect. no rc is perfect. and no rc doesn't need work out of the box. maybe you should have asked for help instead of smashing a reputable company with some of the best c.s there is.. i and many of the other members would have been more then happy to help you. good luck bro. i'll be out bashing my redcats.. and just so you know, that "thingy" next to the clutch "thingy".. its called a spur gear..

I guess my 3 Redcats should go in the trash according to this guy. NOT!!!
I will be out with my Redcats bashing with my son tomorrow!
good to hear.. bet the kid is gona have a blast. way to go dad!!, but we all know they arent the best. i meen, its no traxxas or hpi and it sure aint no ofna. but we deal with the little quirks. the end resoult is if you can get a redcat(or 4) to run great and be reliable(wich isnt hard) then you just might be a pretty damn good rc'er next to the novice who pulls a revo out of the box and plays in the backyard. this thread has already proven its point to many others. there not the best, but redcat is coming along pretty good considering were they were in 05'. and they have the customer service to boot.

the end resoult is if you can get a redcat(or 4)

For what I paid for my 3 Redcats, and they were brand new, I still could not get a Traxxas. Redcat is perfect for what I want to do with them, have fun!

Anyone care to share some pics of your redcats I have never seen one and I would like to.

Here is a pic of two of my Redcats. One is a 1/10 Tsunami Truggy and the other is a 1/8 Twister LT road car. I also have a 1/8 Landslide LT but I am fixing it now. (yes they do break like every other car)

As tight as my budget is, you guys have me interested. Something new to keep things fresh.

I had electric for years and I always wanted a nitro car/truck. Now I have 3 and still spent less then buying one Traxxas.

I checked out redcats web site last night. redcatracing.com. There stuff looks pretty nice and they have a line of brushless rigs with 3300kv motors. I couldn't find out too much more about them, like how many cells the esc is rated for or what kind of guts are in the trannys. If you like the redcats you have now, I see no problem in going back to them. Their short coarse trucks are really nice looking and looks to be well built.

ok sorry about posting my opinion. from all your post i can see how i could be wrong on this subject. i would like to apoligise to everyone offended and will kep my opinions to myself in the future.

Everyone's entitled to there opinion. Just have to remember that everyone has different experiences, and a bold post will get bold reactions. It's always possible that you got a lemon, too. Don't be offended by what others post. Just be prepared to defend your stance. Kinda like I'm die hard Trx, and have had no problems besides the ones I brought on myself. But I'm sure I don't bash as hard as others, either. The people that hate Traxxas, rather than say their worthless, need to fess up and admit they bought the wrong machine. If you want to catch endless air and crash all the time, they're not the right machine straight out of the box. That doesn't mean they're junk.

You don't need to keep your opinions to yourself. You saying that Redcat is junk just because you had a problem with yours does not make all Redcats junk. I understand that you are new to rc and I have read some of your other threads/post and see that you have crashed and was running the buggy in garss over the tires. All this causes stress and something will give out. This happens with all rc cars/truck. They are not indestructable. You could go buy any other brand and still have the same problem. Ask anyone on here.:)
Do you want to get rid of your Redcat Tornado?
