Redcat ascent 18 upgrades??

Hello first post already!


My 6 year old son has a trx4-sport and that little man thinks everything is a basher ‍♂, he likes crawling but loves speed more!...


Anyways...... I'd like to get him a redcat ascent 18 since since we're anticipate we'll be doing indoor crawling as winter gets closer and closer.
My main concern is durability, the trx really takes anything my boy throws at it, will the redcat be somewhat reliable? And what upgrades, if any, should I do to improve durability. He likes the ascent because his big sis got one as a first crawler, amd he loved it (so did I and I'm getting one also! )

There are a couple guys here that have them I think. @Doom! has done a little bit of hopping up on one of his I believe.

I've got three of them, so I guess you could say I like them. As far as durability, they are pretty rugged, keep in mind, no mini crawler is going to be as tough as a 1/10 scale.
