Hello everyone and i apologize for the most asked question in these threads.. so i recently got back into the hobby, built the rc10 40th. looking for a good servo.. no real racing or anything maybe some weekend indoor/ outdoor stuff. a main recommended the ecopower WP120T.. some recommend the protek 160t.. any help would be great. i will probably go with a hobbywint quicrun 10bl1120 G2 4000kv
thanks and have a great long weekend!
Every time I see that Ecopower WP120 servo mentioned, I have to bring this up...
Lots of rebranding goes on in the hobby. You can save a chunk of change with the
JX Servo above... if you were to go that route. Ecopower just rebrands items... like their servos. I don't know if there is anything special about the WP120T, but the JX Servo CLS5830HV has very close specs and is said to be the OEM for that WP 120T servo. I had a great many years of abusing the JX Servo CLS5830HV, but I think it came to its end of life cycle the other night.
I'm kind of surprised someone recommended that much of a servo for a 1/10 scale 2wd buggy. But, going overboard is the name of the game, it seems, nowadays.
You won't find the servo anymore. I just wanted to show the servo that I used in my B4 to race with.
It was a rebranded Hitec servo. A fantastic servo for my "middle of the road" racing budget... back in the day... twenty years ago. No servo saver; high traction clay... it held up just fine. Heck, 82 oz-in/0.13 sec is almost laughable compared to what a person can get a better specs for less moolah nowadays.
There are tons of great servos out there. I could go on and on about specs, rebranding, spare gear sets, and why supersonic speed is not everything.
Happy shopping.
