are receiever batteries really that much better then jsut using regular batteiers and if so, why??

Thanks

:boxing:

are you talking about rc packs because regular batteries are reciever batterys

Yes they are better..they deliver more power to your steering and makes your servos respond quicker over the 4 AA battery holder.

The advantage to using a 5-cell receiver pack is that it costs less in the long run. The voltage they provide is comparable to 4 AA's (both provide 6.0v). But regular alkaline batteries usually last about 5 or 6 tanks and then you have to replace them. In the long run, that costs a ton. For less than $20 you can get a 5-cell receiver pack that will last through over 100 recharges. That's a long time. Much more cost effective.

how many tanks does the reciever pack last

They may last 5 or 6 tanks on a charge. But then all you have to do is throw it on the charger and you're back in business...

it depends on how many servos you run and the MAH the battery has

well which is the best deal,
i have all stock servos and no more

A receiver pack is the best way to go regardless how many or what kind of servo's you have.

IMO, there are two benifits. 1, rechargable. 2, deliver more current than Alkilines which means more power to the servo's.

Alkilines don't allow for high current flow. NiMH batteries do.

I'm not sure. I made my own and it required me to cut the radio box on my savage. I think most are 1200Mah. Mine is a 2100Mah made out of radio shack AA sized NiMH batteries.

It starts going dead when I get about 1/2 gallon run through the truck :)

I typically only run a quart or so before I get a nasty pinch under my shoulder blades from holding the receiver... man I love the savage!

so if i get the hpi 1200 mAh will i have to cut out the radio box??

thank you so much olds, you really know your stuff
