Rechargeable Receiver Pack Question

I have switched the receiver pack in my RS4 MT from the AA set-up to a 1100 NiMH rechargeable pack. If I remove the battery lead from the receiver, turn the power switch to "On" and then hook up the charger, am I actually charging the pack? The LED on the charger does illuminate, but I didn't leave it on for fear of ruining the pack. Additionally, are there Y-harnesses that have a charger lead that don't have the on-off switch? I just don't see the point in paying for the whole set-up when all I need is the charger lead.

Any advice appreciated!

Thats how I charged my packs for a while. I'm not sure why your light isn't saying charging but it should be getting juice!

Thanks VB. The light on my charger is a simple on or off one and essentially it tells me there is a connection.

Try to turn the switch off. If the light on your charger goes out, you know that when it is ON that your getting the almighty jizzz to your pack.

Trial and error process of elimination.

Fast Eddy is right, the switch needs to be on to charge that way and that's the easiest way to test your setup.

You can also buy a new switch with charge lead. I did this for my Savage due to the enclosed radio box.

When I put my carbon upper deck on my RS4 I'll either charge my hump pack like you are or simply plug the pack directly to the charger if I have good access to the connector.

Thanks guys. The light comes "on" when I flick the switch to "on". I just wanted to make sure I wasn't cooking the pack, but then again (after realizing the obvious, duh) the switch merely opens or closes the circuit, so there's no difference leaving the switch "on" and charging it or pulling the pack and hooking it directly to the charger.

That being said, I think I'll go drown myself like a turkey by looking up as it rains!
