I am getting the Hitec 5645MG for my MGT or TMAXX 2.5 and I hear different views of receiver packs. What is the most ideal for this type servo? I also heard that the 5645MG has a big current frain? Does anyone know of the cut off voltage for this type servo?

I would get NiMH.

Here is the one I use in my T-Maxx. It takes the place of the battery box. 5 cell 6V 2100mah.

Here is a pic of it installed.

2100mah!! dude where did you get theat thing. I want one!!

Nice battery pack.

I use dry cells with mine. The only re-chargeables I have that are actually on an RC are the 5 cell by Venom Racing that I have in my buggy. I have not been able to run it nearly enough to tell you one way or the other which is better...BUT I can say this, I have run dry cells with my HS-5645MG servo in my T-Maxx and my Savage and have only had to change the batteries out infrequently...that means once in a great while.

Are the digital servos a bigger current draw? Yes. Do they require rechargeables? No, but they are a good idea.

Hey ROBMOB I really want to get a set up like yours for my MT's. Can you give me a link to get a couple?:hi:

The kind of battery the chick in Jon2's signature probably has a few of laying around...

Ok I saw them on ebay BUT there is a 4.8v at 2000mah and a 6v at 1100mah. what is the diff? Which is better? How long would each last for the 5645MG?:dumb: Where can I get the 6V 2100mah?

Yes, alkaline, energizer, duracell, rayovak...whatever brand fits your fancy. As in 4 AA batteries and you get 6 volts of power. Or in her case 4 D batteries and you get 6 VOLTS of power...=devil.

LOL @ Sky . I can tell my new sig is a winner!!

I think, but I am new at this electric thing, but I think higher voltage means more juice (faster or more powerful for a shorter time) and lower voltage means better power comsumption. Now the mah is just how much juice the cell holds or how long you can run it.

Thanks Blazer, I am still curious as to the comparison of the two packs I mentioned. I really want to get the best deal for my MGT and the TMAXX2.5

well I just got me some hump packs 6V @2100mah and a 6V at 1100mah. I haven't driven them yet as I await parts still . I will let you know. As for the energizers I used them all the time and they lasted about 4 runs 5 max. then they are dead. I figured the cost of buying more to keep me running was more then getting a rechargeable pack. Now I have two to play with.

Hey El pirata. Those sound like a better deal then mine. What's the run time on those" How long is thecharge time for those? You use the same stock battery holder for those right?

I put a set in the morning right off the charger and have not had to change batteries until the end of the day. I will keep an extra set of them, or three, in case I do need batteries throughout the day.
