I am getting a NTC3 RTR soon and was thinking I would just get some AA recharchable Nimh's. But I see other things being used. Whats the best way to go here? I can get 4 1.2v. 1800 Mah AA for $10 or so. Or should I go 6v. flat or hump pack?

bash - i would avoid the 4 rechargables. spend a lil extra dough and get a 5 cell rechargable pack. nicads only have 1.2v compared to alkalines having 1.5v. therfore if you use only 4 nicads you will only be pushing 4.8v instead of 6v like you should be. The packs eliminate this by using 5 cells. plus, taking them out of the car to recharge them sux, so much easier to just recharge them in the car, like you can with a 5 cell pack. goodluck, I luv my NTC3!!!!

Go with Nitro Newbies advice. You can get 5 cell FLAT packs, NimH, 1100 mAh reasonably priced. 24$ on average for Sanyo based packs.

I'm so tired of buying new batteries every other week. would there be some type of battery pack that i could buy from my lhs or towerhobbies or somewhere that would replace my storebought batteries with something a little better?

i have the nrs4-3 ss, so what could i use to put in my reciever. also, do they make good packs for my radio?

I'm not afraid to invest money in batteries. its better than buying batteries, wasting them, then throwing them away.

ps - i have a JR XR2 radio.

There really is no Bad rcv battery packs out there. Yes, your LHS will have a stock of them. Jut make sure you get a 5 cell pack, and that the MA rating is equivilent to your TX batteries. Otherwise they will discharge at different rates, and your xmttr will read ok on the meter, but your rcvr batts will be dead. XR2 is a good radio, so it will accomodate the batts. Also maybe invest in an onboard battery meter for your rcvr batts. i think trinity makes one for about 30.00

This is the pack I run in my NTC3. Plus it comes with a charger. I've had luck with OnlybatteryPacks I have one for my Savage, and they seem to hold up pretty good.
