I guess I lovedthe performance of the motor to much and I want to use it for another year. Held a tune better than any other motor I ever had. The compression in my current one is pretty suspect. And I am not paying $300 again for a new one. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuilt kit for it ???

Diver or anyone else please chime in.

thanks in advance

I've looked everywhere I know online, and can't find an answer for you. You could try pinching the p/s I've had a few done and they work great.

the total rebuild will cost about $200. that's the piston, sleeve, and conrod. you can call nitrohouse for the parts. they can get all the parts for novarossi engines. repinching the sleeve is not going to get all the compression back on this motor. what issues are you experiencing with the motor? i have 1 and i had a huge problem with airleaks and faulty carb needles. i had to buy a set of o-rings for the carbuerator base and a new carb.

I have had ZERO issues with this motor. Only problem is I think I forgot to put after run oil in it after the last time i used it last year. So I am pretty sure its shot even though it has plenty of compression. Honestly I never truly got finished breaking it in. I only ran the car 2 more times after I ran with you guys at prospeed. I honestly dont remember putting any after run in the motor after the last time I raced. I normally dont use any if I plan to race the next day or so . Things came up in my life around that time and I never raced the r40 again so I am pretty sure i never used any. So I am all pissed now cause the motor preformed so well for me last year. I just want to get it back. I dont want to pay 300+ for it though.

I remember Diver saying Navorossi made a similer motor , maybe I can just buy that ?

Thanks for reading.

Edit:
What is Nitro house's number ?

Remy. Just because you didn't put after run oil in it doesn't mean it's shot.
Just put some aro in it and turn the flywheel a couple of times.
Then you should be good to go.
That puppy sat for a year with the glow plug in it, and the pipe on right?
You'll be fine.
The oil shouldn't have evaporated.
Even if you did, oil it as I stated and you will be ok.
The old fuel that may have gummed up will losen up after you run some "FRESH" fuel through it.

that made me feel better. I hope its ok. I am gonna fire it up in the next few days.

Isnt there a chance the engine rusted up after sitting so long without ARO.

Thats what i was thinking. But i hope its not the case but knowing my luck the damn car prabably wont start anymore :(

Well, you better take the head and backplate off and check if everythings okay.

It would suck to loose such a nice engine.

Tell me about it. Cost me 300+. This is what you get when you neglect your toys :hammer:

I have an Old OS .12 that I got about a year ago, it had been stored for at least 5 years with no ARO. The piston was rusted to the sleeve so I shot it with some ARO and WD-40 and let it sit over night. When I went to try it the next day I was amazed that I could turn it over with no problems. The engine still runs today and it runs great! So Remy I wouldn't be too worried about not using ARO.
