so this is my problim I've been quietly dealing with since last summer. last summer i drove my fairly new jato into railraid tie wall.. i broke nearly every main component of the car except the trans, motor, and throttle servo. i did a rebuild invantory and it came to $150..(factory traxxas parts-no upgrades) and I'm sure i left some stuff out.like front rims and tires stearing servo.. after giving it some serious thought, i decided to build a "straight shooter" out of the broken and leftover parts and some "fly-by" fabrication.. i got it all together and did a couple of passes with it, and its just what i expect.. another accedent waiting to happen. not only does it look like someone took a perfectly good jato and butchered it, it wont evan run straight.. my options are to rebuild wich could easly put me at $190, or leave it as is.. on the shelf as pictured.. I've looked for "rollers", but can't seem to find one for less then $225.. mind you, this is the second time I've done a MAJOR rebuild on the jato, first time it was run over..i have many other rc's but it just discusts me to see a traxxas in that condition.. I've also pondered buying a new jato and having a few parts(not many). but if i was gona spend $350 on a new rig, i would get a tec4 just couse i love onroad.. and still there sits the butched jato.. just need some more thoughts.. will let you know what my outcome is..sorry for the long post..

If it was my truck I was find a nice used Jato for about the same price as it would cost to rebuild, which seems to be a good deal less than a brand new jato. And then you would still have a apare drive train to put in an on-road roller if you wanted.

Tough call....

Your choice

Have you had one Rolex? Until you have one, they do seem a bit stupid... but now that I have one, it's a blast to zip around with it.

Ok... I'm not as witty as you obviously ;) lol

If the damage is extensive, and your planning on rebuilding, I would definitely consider using some aftermarket parts to upgrade and rebuild. One of the first items to get should be RPM A-Arms and Bumper.

RPM A-Arms are a MUST. I'm just waiting on some for the baja 5b. RPM arms on my T-Maxx are the best RC investment I've ever made besides buying the brand new 5b for 40 bucks from RCNT.
