Update:
Well, I got it out and fired it up. And all I can say is WOW. Well, WOW after I changed out the glow plug and retuned it so it would'nt die when I gave it throttle, that is.
Here's what I did.
Pulled the Picco out of the Savage and took most of it apart to do a cleaning and maintenance. Douched out the 1 way and the backplate area (the 1 way works good as new now, it was slipping before). I put the stock head back on and removed 1 head shim. Mine came with 2 .001 shims and 1 .0005 shim. I removed one of the .001 shims, and the compression is insane.
I had to do some creative mods to the outside lower motor mount to get the 18t CB and engine to fit, but it can be done without sacrificing the integrity of the lower mount. Dremel saved the day again.
Getting the beast started and running was a real pain. First, I had been running the wrong friggin plug for who knows how long, and the HSN was nearly 2 full turns out of being on the rich side of running. Every time I would get to 1/2 throttle, it'd die. The temp clued me in, it was'nt even getting to 175.
To make this a bit shorter, I got it tuned to the point where it's on the rich side of the range and it accelerates very well, then hits the pipe and really picks up. I can't wait to get it tuned for performance. I think raising the compression had alot to do with it too. Anyway, I was running in the street in front of my house, and traffic is pretty light, but sometimes people fly by. So I didn't want to get too far away before I had it dialed in, so I had about 150' total to play in. Getting up to speed took about 100', then I had to brake to turn around, so keep that in mind.
So, without further adu, here's the pix to back it all up:
