alright guys had a post here about 4 weeks ago about a shop i was dealing with very unhelpfull guy anyways my son has rex x buggy and stone went through bottom of car and bust his clutch bell and i paid guy to fix it in a shop got it back from him and had it running 10 mins and the rear diff went on it so ggot a different shop to order it for me replaced it today took it out round the park thing wont move at all engine running just wheels wonnt turn any ideas wot else it could be was going fine til the guy in shop got his paws on it thanks in advance guys

I'm guessing when they guy installed the CB he either put the shoes on backwards, check to make shure everthing is ok with the clutch, then give it another go.

thanks for your reply after guy fitted it it ran fine for about 10 mins then just stopped and 1 more thing if this was fitted incorrectly would that cause damage to my diff gears cheers and going to check the cb just now

right guys trying to take the cb off but the grub screw on the front is super tight god knows wot he used to tighten it and is the cb just suppose to spin freely cos dosent seem as if it attached to anything

solved problem opened cb and the spring that goes round the shoes is snapped you think the guy who sorted it will need to replace it thanks

Sometimes those springs just let go. It could be that he used too small of a diameter of spring.

I'm not trying to be a snob, just trying to offer you some valuable assistance. If you notice, not many of the veterans who respond to most people's questions have answered your post. Now a few of the guys that answered really no their stuff, that's not what I'm trying to say.

If you would type your questions or comments using better grammar and punctuation, you would get a lot more help. None of us type like we would in English class, but if you could at least use punctuation at the end of your sentences, it would help us to know what you were trying to say. And thank you for not using that awful chatspeak, at least you type out your words.

Now for the question, I would do some checking and be sure that the guy at the LHS has a good reputation. Personally, I found that the only way to get things right is to do it myself. Next time something breaks, come on here and tell us what happened and we can help you get it fixed, point you in the right directions as to what parts to buy so that the breakage won't happen again, things like that. I support the LHS as much as I can, but I save A LOT of money by ordering my parts when I find really good deals on ebay, and by doing the work myself.

Please don't give up on RC just yet. Once you learn how to fix it, and get it going right, there wont be nearly as much work and it can REALLY be A LOT of fun.

If you don't like the maintenance and replacing parts so often, you could consider an electric RC. The new brushless setups are faster than a lot of the nitro setups, and there's not nearly as much maintenance. With nitro, it's more wrenching than driving, which is fine with me because building is my favorite part. But with electric, there's a lot more driving than anything else. If you want, feel free to send me a PM and I'll try to help you out with any problems you're having with your current RC, and maybe help you to find a good deal on an electric so you can have something cheap, fun, and durable, to bash around with while the nitro is down. There are some REALLY good deals out there that make some of the electric RC's VERY affordable.
