I'm not trying to be a snob, just trying to offer you some valuable assistance. If you notice, not many of the veterans who respond to most people's questions have answered your post. Now a few of the guys that answered really no their stuff, that's not what I'm trying to say.
If you would type your questions or comments using better grammar and punctuation, you would get a lot more help. None of us type like we would in English class, but if you could at least use punctuation at the end of your sentences, it would help us to know what you were trying to say. And thank you for not using that awful chatspeak, at least you type out your words.
Now for the question, I would do some checking and be sure that the guy at the LHS has a good reputation. Personally, I found that the only way to get things right is to do it myself. Next time something breaks, come on here and tell us what happened and we can help you get it fixed, point you in the right directions as to what parts to buy so that the breakage won't happen again, things like that. I support the LHS as much as I can, but I save A LOT of money by ordering my parts when I find really good deals on ebay, and by doing the work myself.
Please don't give up on RC just yet. Once you learn how to fix it, and get it going right, there wont be nearly as much work and it can REALLY be A LOT of fun.
If you don't like the maintenance and replacing parts so often, you could consider an electric RC. The new brushless setups are faster than a lot of the nitro setups, and there's not nearly as much maintenance. With nitro, it's more wrenching than driving, which is fine with me because building is my favorite part. But with electric, there's a lot more driving than anything else. If you want, feel free to send me a PM and I'll try to help you out with any problems you're having with your current RC, and maybe help you to find a good deal on an electric so you can have something cheap, fun, and durable, to bash around with while the nitro is down. There are some REALLY good deals out there that make some of the electric RC's VERY affordable.
