Worked a TRIPLE time shift early this morning. Then another early tomorrow. I’ll be on my way by 10am. Just gotta load into the car in the morning.

Pit Stop is running a vintage class tomorrow so I get to run the RC10 and see if I made it better or worse 😂 It wasn’t bad but most of what I did was for reliability/durability.

I’ve got the B74.1 & the ET410 with me too.

I did a big re-organization to the pit box. Was able to get rid of a whole layer of stuff. Should be in a better order so once I’m setup there should be no reason to go into the bottom two boxes. The green bag has the cars and tires. Looks like it’s gonna be pretty hot tomorrow so I busted out the big dog cooler too. I’ll try to post some pics during the day. I may let the truck sit this one out cause it’s gonna be a looonnngggg day. Just relax do some racing and hang out. If it makes the difference to not have to combine mini truggy with 4wd sct or something I’ll throw it down.

Nice! Was planning to go to 997 this weekend or next weekend sometime for some carpet action. Just for a practice day,

Wow, 997 is more farther away than Pit stop from me. Lol. 997 is 1hr and 45mins (95miles) and Pit stop is an hr and 20 mins (78 miles) from Baltimore

Should check out Pit stop and meet up with you someday. Just depends.

How big is the 10th scale 4wd buggy class, and 2wd SCT or stadium truck at Pit Stop?

It’s a pretty full class typically. Often gets a B main. There’s some really fast dudes but it’s fun. If I can tuck in behind one of them for a bit I seem to drive better haha.

I’ve been wanting to try 997 but it’s a ride. I also want to go try Mimi’s too.

Hopefully I'll see you up there. As long as I can roll out of work early tomorrow

That was a fun Friday night of racing, but holy hell it was hot 🥵. Overall did pretty well, for me, but not without some hurdles.

First it was a really low turnout. I assume because of the heat but, probably some people doing holiday stuff too. Because of the turnout they ran two qualifiers and 10 minute mains but they didn’t run vintage, so the RC10 40th got the night off. It’s a good thing because I still have some work to do. Evidently the new transmission is a bit more narrow than the 6 gear. I kept losing one of the dog bones if I gave it any throttle in the air during practice. For now I’m going to put some limiters in the rear shocks but I see now that JC Racing actually sells CVD’s specifically for their transmission. Different lengths but they’re 3/16 axles instead of 1/4” so the wheels and tires I have won’t fit. That will be the ultimate fix but not in the budget right now.

I drove pretty poorly through both qualifiers with the B74.1. Started the main in 7th (last on the grid). Had a bit of a battle in the beginning with 6th then he had a big mistake and I got away from him. I actually felt like I drove pretty well even though @hood52 lapped me a few times 😝 and got my personal best lap on this layout at 29.558 seconds. Finally out of the 30’s! 🤣

Mini-Truggy got combined with 4 Wheel short course and even then, there was only three of us 🤷. My first qualifier was a disaster. Threw the truck down for the start, it went about 3 feet and shut off marshal turned it back on and I made it about half a lap and it shut off again. After some fiddling we figured it was loose bullets cleaned em up and I was able to get one lap before the buzzer. I did ok in Q2 and placed 2nd for the start. It was a mostly uneventful main the leader was turning 28’s and I was turning low 30’s with a tangle lapping 3rd and some mistakes. I botched the rhythm section on the first lap badly haha. By the end of the race that Trinity 6.5T was getting HOT. it was still pretty warm when I got back from marshaling. I think in the future on hot days like this I’m going to leave the car powered up while I marshal to help cool things down.

Awesome !

Uhh no thanks, I don't let my cars get that dirty lol. But still interested in checking it out someday. I'm sure a air duster will get all that dirt off right?

Yea it’s pretty easy to clean up. I generally don’t bother during the actual race day but when I get home I’ve got a system. I blow it off with air then spray the whole thing down with Spray-9 (or simple green) then a quick rinse with the hose. Not a straight jet of water just a quick spray. Then blow the water off immediately with air again. Last step I spray the whole thing down with this stuff it goes on like WD40 but dries to a protective coating that makes it even easier to get the dirt off next time. The whole process takes about 5-6 minutes. I do the tires separately they take a while to get real nice. I want one of those drop in tire cleaners so bad haha.
