I didn't even know what track we were racing on until I looked at his run. LOL

Dang Lloyd, you don't waste any time putting a run in.

I hate to wait, even if its a disadvantage for me not spending alot of time practicing, I dont mind lol. I think there should be time limits like you have two days to run your first run, if not, then it drops you down to only having two runs, then another two days and your down to the last run.

Pretty cool, 4 points between 3rd and 4th and 4 points between 1st and 2nd....

I second the motion!

I need to think about the logistics of what you guys are suggesting.

Same goes for the fast lap bonus suggestion that Lloyd had awhile back.

I see where they're going.. It's akin to limited testing in real world 1:1 racing. There is a significant advantage to a guy who uses the entire week and early weekend to practice and then have 3 shots at the top spot rather than a guy who puts in intermittent runs as he practices and only has one official run left by the time the end of the week comes around.

My reservation to the suggestions is that in the whole grand scheme of things the method of choice is completely up to the individual. If a racer chooses to use his runs in what may be a disadvantaging manner that is not the fault of the racer who saves his runs until Sunday. Just as in all things in life... those who are most successful are those that have taken most advantage of the system.

Don't take this the wrong way Rob but this is the main reason I used to schedule the "one and done" races.

I honestly thing what Rob has going on here is good. This system is much much more friendly to newbies and is a more laid back environment as opposed to the type of format I used to try to put together.

Even though I am not running the road courses anymore, I think the way Rob has it set now is fine. No one makes you put in a run minutes after the race opens, why make me put one in? If it is your decision to run right away, fine, but you have the choice to run now, or practice and run later, the choice is yours. I hope the oval season will remain as this season is now. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Easiest thing for me to do is nothing so the race format will probably remain the same. LOL

No changes for the Oval Season unless you ask for them Joe.

Should make a thread in chaos telling people to check out the vrc for the upcoming winter season and the winter powder puff (oval) season. Why arent guys like alpine and the other guy who's name I see in there, running?

The way it is now works fine but there is no excitment until Sunday, then the runs start. The other way would keep the action going all week.

I agree its fine the way it is now but you are right, its boring to see everyone run on sunday night imo.

I don't see your first run yet. :p:

I had a pretty decent practice run this evening. Ran a full 16 minutes after I got my pit stop dialed in and got used to the track. Low voltage alarm went off as I was preparing to put in a run. It's going to take about an hour to charge the LiPo so I will just put a run in tomorrow.

That's a full 4 days early than normal. LOL

got my first run is in, not great but not bad for the very little practice I put in.....Too much going on this week!

winter powder puff (oval) season.

Your just jealous because you have NEVER beaten me on the oval! :p:

Thanks Rob, I like the way it is, so it's all good. I am REALLY looking forward to an all oval season. :D I really enjoy running on the oval, the road courses not so much lol.

We are getting closer and closer to the marathon 1/2 hour finale on Speedway. That will separate the men from the true Powder Puffs.

Round 10 - R/C Speedway

Round 10 brings us once again to the oval for the 4th time this season. After 2 consecutive 2nd place finishes behind robmob,Racer 1966 needed to end that streak and avoid dropping further in the points.

Racer 1966 did indeed put an end to robmob's winning and did it with a vengence. He took the lead from the first lap and looked to be unstoppable. But then the first pit stops came around and Racer 1966 crashed on the exit and then spun on the following lap. It seemed to be an open door for robmob but it was very short lived as Racer 1966 settled back in the groove and ran the rest of the race without incident. At the checkered,it was Racer 1966 by 5 laps over second place robmob.

The battle for second heated up toward the end of the race. NCNitro was on a strong run but needed a 3rd pitstop near the end. That allowed slowngreen to catch up and was on his bumper for the remainder of the race. At the line though,NCNitro edged slowngreen by a scant 2.42 seconds earning him his 3rd podium appearance for the season.

At the back this week was abadk9420 and SMaxxin. SMaxxin seemed to have the speed but a few bobbles and tire wear kept him at the back. A 3rd pitstop allows abadk9420 to go around and take the 5th spot leaving SMaxxin in 6th. One thing to note though,SMaxxin had the second fastest lap of the race by only .02 seconds!

Returning veteran Lessen and the rookie darkslayor24 failed to show for the race. Hopefully they will be back for the next round.

In the points,Racer 1966 swaps places with robmob taking back first by 1 point. slowngreen still holds on to third by 2 points over NCNitro followed by SMaxxin.abadk9420,Lessen and darkslayor24.

Round 11 takes us to sunny Ft Meyers. Can Racer 1966 maintain the points lead? Will robmob take it back again? Will this be the race a rookie wins? Let's race and find out!

Round 11 - Ft Meyers

Back to a road course with great track conditions, the VRC season rolls on to FT Meyers. With only a few races to go,the competition is heating up!

This one turned in to 2 races early. One for 1st and 2nd and one for 3rd and 4th. Racer 1966 grabbed the early lead but robmob was right there behind him in the race for 1st and 2nd. An earlier pit allows robmob some time in the lead then a bobble and pit puts Racer 1966 back in charge. Again pit stops play a big role in the finish. Racer 1966 needed a second stop late in the race allowing robmob to catch up making for a bumper - bumper finish. In the end Racer 1966 squeaks by with the win by on a 2.375 second margin!

In the second part of the race, for 3rd and 4th, it was slowngreen and SMaxxin. The 2 of them traded position back and forth throughout the race. At the finish line, SMaxxin edges past the line just in time to count a lap then ran out of fuel as slowngreen just runs out of time leaving him in the 4th spot and SMaxxin gaining his 4th podium this season. The most amongst the rookies so far.

Lessen,darkslayor24,NCNitro and abadk9420 were all missing this week. That allowed some more shuffling in the points. Racer 1966 advances his lead to 4 over 2nd place robmob. slowngreen remains in 3rd but SMaxxin, only 4 points back from slowngreen, advances to 4th dropping NCNitro to 5th. That leaves abadk9420 in 6th,Lessen in 7th and darkslayor24 in 8th rounding out the points.

Round 12 takes us down-under to Sydney. Another road course with some tricky corners. With only 5 races remaining, this should be another exciting race. Don't miss it!
