Yeah I see...... someone doesn't want to let the cat out of the bag yet! :hehe:

nah. haven't practiced yet. the last time we ran Cincy was middle of last season and i was running an average of 27.5 seconds. not sure if i can get any better with the reduced grip. i'll be practicing tonight and we'll see.

And Joe, just keep plugging away at the basics. work on driving more than setup. braking was my toughest lesson because I always wanted to brake and turn. but you have to remember these are AWD. brake hard and you lose steering. so brake, then turn. work on rolling the throttle through the turns and try to come out hot. eventually you'll get the hang of driving with the throttle. biting in the corner too much? get into the throttle a little to push the car out. came in too hot? little brake, coast it until the front starts tracking again. and always remember the lesson i still haven't mastered. Slow is fast.

Uh... we got some close comp this week maybe?

Consistancy will be much more important this weekend than most others being that the race is so long.

I like this track.

This is the type of track I am used to racing 10th scale electric touring cars on. If you happen to boot a turn or get into another driver, you hit a barrier and keep going. No grass to run off into and have to get marshaled out of.

I actually enjoy tracks with a grass infield. It's more realistic. The consequences of pushing your car too hard are faaar greater. I like that sort motivation.

OK, 1 and done. 30 minutes is too long to run more. Trigger finger is a bit sore. Hand are numb. Enough is enough. I ran a much more conservative race this week. Figure with the length, it's better to make few mistakes than pop off a couple fast laps. Much more conservative with the AI. Stayed out of their way and let them by. Only 1 or 2 incidents. A few lapses in concentration. But otherwise just slow and steady. Pretty much ran what I expected.

I'm in.

Gambled at the end and tried to stretch the fuel. The race ended about 2 seconds after I passed the line. I got about 2/3 of the way around the track and ran out of fuel and had to pit. Man are the pits long when you are out of fuel. Oh well.

Had to do some decent calculations on pit stops to make sure I didn't get stranded. At close to 30 seconds a lap, it's a possibility. I had a conservative engine setup. I was going 7.5 minutes between stops.

One thing I hate about this game, the online track is way too different than the practice track. That ticks me off! I DNF'd then first attempt then finished the second. I made my original goal on laps, even had the fastest lap ever for me but I was still beating that lap count offline.

Where's our illustrious leader? A no show again?? And where's Joe?

I was averaging between 26.8 and 27.4 seconds per lap in practice with AI's. Fast lap was a 26.5. During the actual race it was even when I felt I had a quick lap it wasn't even close to my practice times.

Fortunately we are all in the same boat and practice for me is to memorize the layout of the track.

It is different, that's for sure. You did a good job of staying consistent, rob. That's still my weak area. I can knock off a good lap now and again, but i'm just to scattered to really get good full runs. But it's still fun.

I enjoyed the track and surprisingly didn't mind the 30 minutes. Transmitter hand did not go numb at all. I am much more relaxed on road courses than on that oval where I gorilla grip the transmitter.

I am a little surprised that Josh didn't put down a run. He now really has his work cut out for him.
