Round 15 : Boss Speed
Round 15,the semi-final race of the season,ends without a lot of close competition. Racer 1966 being down 2 points wanted the win to even out his chances for the championship but robmob slams the door on him. The only other entrant this week was slowngreen,but he couldn't get up to speed and was not a factor in the finishing order.
robmob starts the race at blistering pace and Racer 1966 is once again left to watch him run off in the distance. robmob fell slightly off pace toward the end but even with the fastest lap,there was no catching up for Racer 1966. slowngreen found himself left alone and farther behind. At the finish robmob takes it by 2 laps over Racer 1966 and then slowngreen another 2 laps behind Racer 1966.
In the points,robmob takes a big 3 point advantage into the final round. This makes for a tough situation for Racer 1966,anything less than a win and the fast lap bonus will seal the championship for robmob. If robmob gets the fast lap bonus,he will only need to finish 3rd or better to take the championship home. Being the only rookie entrant this week seals up 3rd place for slowngreen.
It's finale time! It'll be a 30min. endurance race at the R/C Speedway oval. The championship is still not a sure lock for robmob but it's not going to be easy for Racer 1966 to take it away either. This should make for an exciting finish for the top 2 positions. Who's going to take the top honors? Tune in next week as we crown the RCNitroTalk.com VRC champion!

Yep, I'll be running. I just haven't had any time to practice a little since school started and my son has football 4 days a week. But I will get at least one run in.

Heck yeah, it would be awesome! I remember when I started playing vrc and doing the dual play with curtis, I would try to hack him alot and he would get pissed lol

That was a long frickin run. Got tangled with AI's a few times and I should have changed tires more than once. At one point my mind wandered and I ran straight off the track at the banked turn. I never even turned the wheel. I just ran off the track without attempting to turn at all. LOL

I hate speedway and won't subject myself to another run unless I get pushed to 3rd.
Time to get the track list in order for the winter series. All road courses since there is a separate oval series.

I am having issues with my pc, so I am on line from my wifes lap top, so unfortunately I couldnt run the final oval, oh well, at least there is a full oval winter series, I can't wait. Got my computer friend coming by to see if he can figure out whats up with the pc.

No I didn't, but I also don't believe I could stay focused and clean enough to get 140 laps.
I knew I should have put a "in case of a tie" clause in before the season started. Had I put it in, I would have won since it would have been the person with the most victories. Oh well. I will add it in all future seasons.
Since it's seems lame for both of us to have the Championship award, I think we should just forget about it.
Looks like if it wasn't for the fast lap bonus, you would not have tied me Randy.
You: 7 victories and 9 fast lap bonus points
Me: 8 victories and 5 fast lap bonus points
At least a couple of other guys got a fast lap bonus in the season. I had hoped for more. It was not meant for us to further distance ourselves from the other racers. After reading what Lloyd once posted regarding the bonus and seeing how the season shook out, the fast lap bonus will not be reduced to only 1/2 a point for the Winter Series.
2 week break before the start of the Winter Series which will begin on Oct. 4.

Note that during Thanksgiving and Christmas, I have allowed 2 weeks each during those weeks just in case anybody will be out of town. We will also be allowed to put in 5 runs during those weeks.

Great job Randy and Rob. I didnt see a tie coming, thats sweet. I hope we get some more guys for the winter series. I've been bugging nitrorc4life to join, so if he does, theres one more.
Also huge thanks to Mike, if it werent for him I wouldnt have joined vrc this year and I love it! I was aiming for 3rd and thats what I took, so I'm happy.

Wow that was a fun season! I guess a tie with you Rob isn't so bad. Just remember though, I had more fast laps so more victories are coming

Track names were put in a hat and I drew them starting with Race #1. Once all were drawn, I threw the first 8 chosen back into the hat and chose 5 more for the repeat tracks for the last 5 races. No speedway since there is separate series.
Durations and grip will be posted when I create the events in VRC which will be during the weekend before the season starts.
For the regular winter series, races will last either 12, 14, 16 or 18 minutes. Grip will not exceed 100%. It is winter after all.
For the speedway series, races will be anywhere from 4 minutes up to 24 minutes. Grip will be all over the place to keep it interesting.
Following the Winter Series by a couple of weeks, there will be short 10 race Spring Series as a warm-up to the 2011 Championship.
Interesting stat....4 of your victories came on Speedway which we visited 6 times. Only 1 of my victories came on Speedway.
