Ok with the amount of computer geeks we've got on this site, there's got to be a few of you who are into case modding and the such. While I'm not much into case modding I am replacing my existing case with this one:

It's just a silver aluminum, 10 bay case. I've also got 4 Ventec stealth case fans on the way. What I'm looking for is a good set of round cables, being that the stealth fans don't move a lot of air compaired to other fans, I think round cables would be better.

Anyone use these and if so which kind?

If your talking about keeping it running cooler, my brother in law mods cases. He does all sorts of stuff like paint, build and so forth. The coolest thing I ever seen is his case now. It is cooled by antifreeze. He has tubing running all through it with digital gauges inside and out. At night he turns his green neons on and with the antifrezze glowing to, it looks sweet.
 
Well my main concern is the fact that I've bought fans that move much slower then normal fans so it would be as quiet as possible. I can see how IDE cables would be in the way more so then round cables, thus the only reason I'm looking for round cables.

I'm not one that much into neons, crazy lights, talking, or even crazy sounds. It needs to work, and I'm now at the point I don't want to hear it. Before I bought the new CPU fan and heatsink it sounded like a hair dryer.

Nice Case.
i got about 6 fans in my enlight 7230 ATX case..i modded the side and put two 80mm fans.these places have good cooling parts.i ordered some stuff from 1coolpc and was happy with them.

however,ordering my ThermalTake Volcano 7 CPU fan from www.xoxide.com cause of the price the box it was shipped looked like it got stomped on and the Cpu Fan's box was messed up.at this point,i said screw it and put in anyway cause it took 3 weeks to get it and at the time,no computer store had the Fan.
 
I have an Antec SOHO 1040BX case that looks a lot like that one, 'cept it's black and I have to cut my own window.

I bought a Vantec fan controller that works out nice for keeping fan nise down.

Check out www.svc.com for round cables. That is where I got mine.

This is my P233 64MB 2nd firewall/NAT router. And it needs to be cooled... so back off :D

The other comps seen barely in the right side of the pic are webproxy, mail/webserver and 1st firewall.

Hey Woodie, I'm sure when Msly gets home tonight, he'll have some answers for ya.. He just got done modding his case with those round cables... Could'nt you just carefully seperate the cables, in pairs, and then stack em up & tie em up with tiny wire ties? Same idea, alot cheaper, but less purdy....
 
Lt.Doomsday - Not a bad choice for cooling, however I've gone with the Swiftech MCX462-V heatsink with a 92mm vantec stealth fan.

Scummer - nice modding, I've seen a lot of those before though. I really enjoy the motherboard sitting on the box like as well.

DarthRacer - I may add a fan controller if I see a need to add louder fans. Though my goal is to make the computer as quiet as possible at all times.

It's a matter of shielding - regular IDE cables are not shielded properly to turn them into round cables.

Thats what I thought, I've got the deluxe version and love it. I've seen those Alienware cases, a lil to much going on for me. I just want something simple.

I fully agree about the cases. The price is ridiculous for sure. I was going to go for the better board but I have so many systems now it would have been overkill. I have a few raid abit boards, so I didn't feel the need. I don't overclock anymore its really not necessary except for the sport of it.

Well the case came today along with the 5 stealth fans. I've transferred my motherboard and 120GB IDE HD to the new case installed the new 80GB IDE HD, CD-RW, FDD and Antec cobra round cables (man those things are hard to bend). Tomorrow the two 120GB serial ata drives should be in, which I'll run in a raid.

Already I can hear a big difference in this setup over the louder setup I used to run - awww much better :D

btw: I did manage to pick up dual 12" blue cold cathode lights for the case as well for $7.00
